So we have one priest refusing to do his job because of someone’s beliefs, while the Australian priests provide secrecy, relief and spiritual succor to child molesters.

Wrong on all counts. One refuses the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony to someone who embraces the dead baby cult. In the majority of cases Confession is anonymous, the priest does not know who the penitent is. As for relief, he would be counseled to turn himself in before any absolution would be given.

They leave only one option, just defy the law.

This law will also effect the Orthodox Church. I have not heard what the response has been, but if I were a bishop over there I’d tell the government to go to Hell and order every parish to make contingency plans in case their priest is arrested and or their church building is seized by the state. Church buildings, while sacred places, are in the end only buildings. The Church has been underground before, quite frequently in fact.

The time to prepare is now. But there must not be any concession to this evil law. Not one inch must be yielded.

Well, yes, actually they can both be right. If the Irish pro-abort would like to sincerely repent, he too would be welcome in the confessional. You understand the difference between a repentant sinner and an unrepentant one, don’t you? God certainly does; the Bible says so.
