LOL, I hear what you’re saying but in real life that’s not always the case.

Years ago when Eisenhower was president of Columbia University, he began a speech to the faculty and referred to them as employees of the university. Isidore Rabi interrupted him and said, “Mr. President, we are the university.”

Faculty may feel that they are the university and Catholics may feel that they are the church but how true is that today?

The Church is the Body of Christ. Per definition, and permanently. And neither the Pope nor the rest of the clergy comprise the whole Body.

I have always taught my RCIA students that the most important -- and by far the most interesting ---people in the Catholic Church, are not the Popes, and not the priests, but the saints.
