Heavenly Father –

As we pass another Independence Day , may we remember those who sacrificed in the American Revolution to give us a free country.

In 1776, General George Washington wrote:

“Let us therefore rely upon the goodness of the Cause,
and the aid of the supreme Being,
in whose hands Victory is,
to animate and encourage us
to great and noble Actions—
The Eyes of all our Countrymen are now upon us.

And this day, the eyes of many Americans are on us.

Through the power of Your Spirit, Lord, may we clarify the goodness of the Cause of America. May we demonstrate noble Actions in godly words and deeds. And may we walk with faith in this confidence—

In God We Trust.

At times, evil seems so strong.

Many of our sacred institutions (education, religion, government, free press, justice system, business, entertainment, …) have been corrupted as well as the angry mobs that demonstrate to the world “The acts of the flesh” which Galatians 5:19-20 describe as —

sexual immorality,
impurity and debauchery;
idolatry and witchcraft;
hatred,
discord,
jealousy,
fits of rage,
selfish ambition,
dissensions,
factions
and envy

May we not be distracted and remember the real battle:

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood,
but against the rulers,
against the authorities,
against the powers of this dark world and
against the spiritual forces of evil
in the heavenly realms.
Ephesians 6:12 (NIV)

Fill us with the Holy Spirit, Lord. Equip us to fight for what is right as You give us discernment to see the right. Grant us Wisdom, courage, and strength to stand firm.

Likewise, grant Wisdom and courage to President Trump and Vice President Pence, and the 115th Congress. Protect them. Frustrate the enemy within.

May Your Provident hand move in the 2018 mid-term elections and raise up godly representatives who look out for We, the People. May godly judges rise to the bench—especially justices to the Supreme Court.

- Special prayer for the new Supreme Court justice be a man or woman of God and of God’s own choosing. For the Holy Spirit to infuse the confirmation proceedings from start to finish. And for the eventual overturning of Roe vs. Wade.

Thank You for Your Providence in setting aside a land flowing with milk and honey that was destined become the United States of America. Thank You for Your Anointing upon our Founding Founders to craft an Inspired Constitution to govern a Christian Nation. Thank You for the many blessings You have bestowed upon us and for the Divine Protection You have given us.

Pour out Your SPIRIT upon us, LORD. Rise up the remnant who believes and stands upon Your precepts. Give us courage and strength to fight a second revolution for the soul of America. JESUS gives the victory!
