It is the abuse of spiritual leadership.

——Just because a couple of apples are rotten, doesnt mean that the entire church is.——
Every organization has bad apples....they get rid of them...
The problem you seem to overlook is the systematic cover up and denial of the problem by moving evil priests to continue to abuse for decades...

This very same position and the responses generated is one of the reasons why there is fewer Catholics attending Sunday mass.

The problems of Native Alaskans are mostly due to sex abuse by Catholic priests.
Is that the message?
To: Tea Party Terrorist
There is more sexual abuse in non-Catholic Churches than in Catholic Churches today. Check out the facts. And there is even more sexual abuse in schools and among families...
.check it out.
McCarrick is old news.

Knowing the sordid history of the catholic church it boggles me that anyone would want to be a part of this satanic cult. The catholic church is truly evil.
Thanks for assuming exactly the tone that the NY Times is looking for in reporting this story. Rather than bashing the Church, try understanding that these child rapists are victimizing the Church. We don't want them anymore than anyone else does. Unfortunately, they've entrenched themselves in the hierarchy just as they've entrenched themselves in the leadership of education, the entertainment industry, and every level of US government. If you hate the Church because of it, then you should hate all of the above as well.

So, what you’re telling me is young boys are safer with Priests than with anyone else, including their own families.

Just like people are walking away from the Democratic Party, it's time to walk away from the catholic church and leave it to the sexual deviants that are so entrenched. My mother tried to force us kids to be a part it, but we all resisted. When she died, so did catholicism in our family. Had we followed her into that cult no telling how many of us would have also been abused.

The horrific suicide rate and the rampant alcoholism rate can be directly traced to the rape spree catholic priests went on after being banished to Alaska for previous pedophilia activity. There are lots of law suits over this and one diocese has already been bankrupted. Quite frankly, I hope every diocese in Alaska eventually goes bankrupt.

Therein lies your problem. The Catholic Church is not the equivalent to the Democrat Party. It's the Church founded by Jesus Christ with over a billion followers world-wide. You don't just "walk away" and let the deviants take over such a venerable institution. You fight for it and work to wash the deviants out.
My mother tried to force us kids to be a part it, but we all resisted. When she died, so did catholicism in our family. Had we followed her into that cult no telling how many of us would have also been abused.
No one in my family has been abused by the Church. Many, however, have been abused by the school system and the entertainment media. If you still partake of either of those things, then your leaving of the Catholic Church has done you absolutely no good. Rather, it has done you a lot of harm.

Oh, please. Alcoholism and suicide have been the scourges of native communities for centuries.

So the answer to my question is “yes”. Correct?
To: AlaskaErik
The horrific suicide rate and the rampant alcoholism rate can be directly traced to the rape spree catholic priests went on after being banished to Alaska for previous pedophilia activity. Correlation is not causality. Produce some evidence that suicide and alcoholism were much less of a problem before this alleged "rape spree". BTW, suicide and alcoholism are rampant on Indian reservations in the Lower 48, too.
Sounds to me like you've found a scapegoat and are sticking to it.

It is not true that the Catholic church is "nothing but a pedophile group and a NWO group."
These evil men committed these crimes, not because they were true Catholics, but because they were not.

"The Catholic church... are(is) nothing but a pedophile group... " That is not true. These evil men became evil, not by being faithful to Catholic faith and morals, but by betraying them.

"The Catholic Church is not a religion that believe in GOD. That is exactly and precisely a falsehood. The Catholic faith teaches us to know, love, and serve God.
These abusers do not exemplify Catholicism. They reject it.
They defile it.
They would --- if they could --- destroy it.
