GREAT post! Thanks!
This covers the whole thing pretty well:http://jewishnotgreek.com/
Thanks for posting this very important message. So many churches either don’t mention God’s wrath or mention it only in passing. The concepts of holiness, God’s hatred of sin and the seriousness of sinning against such a righteous, just, powerful and infinite God escapes the thoughts of most men. Jonathan Edwards talked about God’s wrath in some depth and he had a lot of insight into it. Of course, the bible and in particular the prophets also give tremendous insight into this aspect of God.
Some preachers even attempt to set the love of God in opposition to His wrath, as if the two concepts are irreconcilable. They don’t get that He passionately loves what is righteous and hates what is wicked and understands what both are and how sinful the hearts of men are.
Excellent post!
This generation is in for a world of hurt when His Wrath does come like a full force.
Excellent message.

Hell - sheol (שאול). The root is the verb to ask.
Israel asked for a king because the people desired to be like the other nations. God provided Saul (שאול).
Saul - "asked for".
Then God let them know exactly what the king [whom they asked for] would do to them.
They asked for a king and got what they asked for - Saul. Same spelling as Sheol.
A hell of their own creation so to speak. "Be careful what you wish for."
One thing about reality/truth is the saying that nobody wants to face it, otherwise they'd have to deal with it. Who can look at God and live, because few are willing to face the truth. The truth - it burns.
Eternal punishment for those who hate the truth is to be tossed into a lake of truth and be left there to deal with it. Now for others, it would be a relaxing paradise free of deception and duplicity. No CNN in any waiting room anywhere.
Same place, different experience. Lots of folks would be wailing over the loss of their favorite MSM programming.
Jeremiah 23:29 Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
Fire: good servant/fearful master.
Akin to "the sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath."
Exodus 35:3 Ye shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon the sabbath day.
Talk about God being proactive in saving people from themselves.
Basic concepts.
