Faith Without Love is useless.
We can see this perfectly illustrated in the FIVE PILLARS OF ISLAM.
These are, of course:
1.Faith
2.Prayer
3.Charity(Alms-giving)
4.Fasting
5.Pilgrimage
On the surface, every one of these five are good, decent things. But it is this very list that Paul goes through in 1 Corinthians 13 and dismisses as NOTHING if they are not imbued with Agape Love. Paul even includes Martyrdom in his list. Even if one has Faith to move mountains, gives everything he has to the poor, fasts, can pray in the most beautiful language imaginable (the prettiest sound on earth?), and even consigns his body to the fire, and DOESN’T have Love, it is worthless.
And so, the five pillars crumble because they have no foundation.
And ALL our works do the same thing.
Nothing we do is worth anything if it’s done without love, and I suspect that if it’s not done FROM love.
The right works with the wrong motivation mean nothing either.
