Hes been in the Church hierarchy his entire adult life and to my knowledge has never uttered a single word of condemnation.

He is obviously not the problem, that is, the only problem, if the issue long pre-dated him.
Why did Benedict XVI have to deal with sexual abuse cases outside of Buenos Aires by the hundreds, if Bergoglio were the only problem? Obviously, he wasn't the only problem.
(Please note, I'm not saying he said or did the right thing, nor that I approve of what he's done, or of what he does most of the time, or anything like that. I'm just pointing out that your statement that he's "never uttered a single word of condemnation" is untrue.)
