Hell is not “gihanna”. Gihanna is the place of the damned.
The gates of hell will not prevail against the Church means the Church shall not be stopped from entry, to rescue the dead, by hell’s gates.
It could also mean, perhaps, that the Church defeats death.
Probably both.

Our Carmelite priests told us, “We think the Church will right itself once the 60’s generation has died off.” It sure will be better, that’s for sure. The younger priests coming in are on fire for the Lord.
