Since it means stone in Greek the only reason petros would even come into play would be to confuse the issue.
Stone and rock has the same meaning and most likely petros has the same meaning except for the people who can not stand the idea of Simon being called rock.
Even Paul called Simon Cephas ( rock )no less than five times.
So i prefer to translate the language that Jesus spoke, which is most likely Aramaic into English then we have his exact words.
Cephas = Rock, Stone =Rock, Petros = Rock, Kepha = Rock, Kaypha = Rock.

I prefer to read English and it has no doubt been translated thousands of times and the ones recognized are above and not one of them gives a hint that the rock is anything other than Peter.
