Further it is not generally appropriate that any of the elements to be consecrated should be off the altar on tables

The rejection by a priest of such norms can be “telltale”.

Once a man rejects a grievous taboo, mere “norms” become laughable to him.

I'm glad you made this Catholic Caucus. Otherwise we'd have people who majored in "Catholics-Are-Always-Wrong-ology" parachuting in here to instruct us on the right way to do a really Biblical Liturgy.

Complete with "This is My Body --- NOT. LOL!"

An added nuance beyond Msgr. Pope’s words:

In older manuals (used for the Extraordinary Form), the suggested habitual intention by the priest is to consecrate the hosts on the corporal (i.e. the one sitting on the corporal and in any ciboria that are also on the corporal) and the wine that is inside the cup of the chalice(s). For the latter, it would mean that wine spilled onto the outside of a chalice during the Offertory would not be consecrated, while the wine within the chalice would be.

This distinction about the wine is essential given that it is not uncommon for a cruet of wine to remain on the Epistle side of the altar, and that some wine is always left over in the cruet in order to complete the ablutions.

“The Flagon with the Dragon has the pellet with the poison, the Chalice from the Palace has the brew that is true”...

Sorry, I could not resist.

None of this nonsense happens at an FSSP mass.

I don’t know the details nor have I ever heard of some of the words in this article but I can tell when something is not right.
