A close non-Catholic relative (and a very fine man) was quite impressed with Pope Francis because he eschewed traditional trappings of the office; seemed like an average Joe.

I will not say "I told you so" because there is NOTHING satisfying about this.

I thought Francis’ eschewing the trappings of the office was nothing but hubris on his part. There was nothing humble about it. He is a vile man who knew about the deep homosexual and pedophilia vein in the CC and did nothing about it.
