If one was to go that route it would be wise to drop a note in the collection box as to the reason there is no money. That way they know.

There is no perfection. But there is a difference between the coverup style and the punish and kick-out style that is noticeable. When known offenders like McCarrick resign or are turned over to authorities instead of getting promotions it will help. When complaints from seminarian dwindle things will look better.
