This Crisis is Worse Than You Realize

Full title: From a Moral-Historical Perspective, This Crisis is Worse Than You Realize

Contrary to Cardinal Donald Wuerl’s early and oft-quoted assessment, the Catholic Church is in fact facing a “massive, massive crisis.” Greater clarity about the nature of this crisis can be had by looking at the larger moral-historical perspective.

There is only one reason why pedophilia is even a moral issue today: historically, the Catholic Church made it one. Sex with boys and girls, but especially boys, was an accepted part of ancient Greek and Roman culture, the culture into which Christ Himself, and hence the Church, was born. Christianity rejected this common pagan sexual practice as a distortion of sexuality, and evangelized accordingly. If it were not for the success of Christianity’s evangelical efforts, the laws against pedophilia still on the books today would never have been there at all.

To give this historical sketch some important details, the most desirable age of men seeking sex with boys in ancient Greece and Rome was the 12-18 year old range, when the boys were blossoming into sexual maturity on their way to becoming men. In short, homosexual activity was defined primarily by pedophilia. There were no artificial distinctions between homosexuality, pedophilia, ephebophilia (sex with someone between 12-14) and hebephilia (sex with someone 15-18). There was simply the culturally commonplace desire of men to have sex with boys from ages 12-18.

Moreover, pedophilia with boys was not confined to a few perverted individuals with exclusively homosexual orientation. The great majority of men engaged in it as an accepted part of Greco-Roman culture, whether they were (as we would designate them) homosexual or heterosexual. Thus, pedophilia was not a moral issue, but a cultural practice engaged in by most men.

The filthy perverts and their Leftist enablers are doing anything they can to divert attention from the crux of the issue. I recommend clicking on the link and reading this important expose.

What scares the bejeebers out of me is that what you have now is worse, it its way, than the Borjias.

Martin Luther hadn't been born when Calixtus III checked out. He was 20 when Alexander VI shook hands with St. Peter, who was pointing in the other direction. Innocent X hadn't been born when Luther stopped wasting air.

Nevertheless, it was the attitude that led to simony and Popes having daughters that could marry and plant husbands so Popes could bring more land into the "family" that gave us the gift of the reformation.

What gift will our modern group of sodomites and pederasts give the the few remaining faithful?

Jesus said the gates of Hell would not prevail. The modern crop seems intent on testing that prophesy.

Reformation 2.0

I think you're right. I would like to see Priests be able to marry (women). Heck; it may be time to allow women Priests. Might have to think about that one since a lot of nuns are really mean. So mean that even a look can wither a normal person.

The cause is far simpler... Satan has gotten his claws into the Church by exploiting the homosexual culture that has been flourishung among tbe clergy for decades. The Pope must begin mass excommunications of any clergy involved directly or through cover ups. The Pope must reiterate Catholic teaching that homosexuality is a grave sin. Lastly the Pope should begin a process of spiritually rooting out the evil through prayers, spirtual cleansing of churches and seminaries and even exorcisms.

Martin Luther was no public fan of “happiness”.

What a despicable, debased, degraded culture. Ancient Greece and Rome deserved their fall.

Ancient Greece and Rome deserved their fall.

Common themes in "Progressive" attacks upon Christianity are that Christianity oppresses women and that Christianity stifles sexual expression. But Christianity brought to the world the elevation of woman in the institution of marriage and the protection of children as made in the image of God.

The essay rings of dismissing the deviancy as something culturally allowed, jumping away from the deep moral implications and spiritual impacts.

The ‘pope’ will do as his political nature directs. He is showing himself as not lead by God but by political views.

No women priests. The Bible says no. The heresies entering the protestant churches came about largely because of feminism and the female leaders installed since the 60s.
