Robert Spencer explains why Muslims labor under false beliefs about the Gospel, and why it's so difficult to witness to them.
I had a Muslim freind who called me (a Catholic) a good Muslim. It had to do with submission to God, not Islam.
Do tell, Mr. Spencer. I’d love to see you go into any mosque and speak the name of Jesus Christ.
Actually, this is the same problem we have with Progressive “Christians” who say that “Jesus was a Socialist”.
The power of the Holy Spirit is so great that even people who will not accept Christ have to add him to their mythology, so he become a Muslim prophet, a Jewish teacher, and a Prototypical Socialist. When we try to talk about the real Jesus, they wave their hands and try to dismiss our Jesus as a fantasy story while they try to teach us about THEIR Jesus.
Not only ‘difficult’, but sometimes downright dangerous!
Muslims can stream a mile of bullsh*t coming from their mouths about any subject connected with Christianity, even going so far as to accept Jesus as a prophet, albeit a lower one.
But when it comes to the Resurrection, it’s Full Stop. They won’t go there except to call for one of their ‘scholars’ who will go on and on for hours boiling the Resurrection down to hallucinations and fantasies, and even cite New Testament scripture while snaking their way around the subject.
Whut? Jesus a MUSLIM?
Muslims were not even a concept until the 7th Century AD, and most of whatever goes to make up that imitation of a real religion was cribbed from the writings of several other monotheistic religions of the time, including Judaism, early Christianity and a now nearly defunct religion known as Zoroastrianism.
Muslims scarcely acknowledge Christ, and that only as a minor prophet, of less significance than a mere itinerant preacher. For sure, the Muslims do not have any equivalent in the Koran or any of the Hadith transcriptions, of the Golden Rule - “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”.
And furthermore, Muslims have no equivalent to the Ten Commandments anywhere in the practice of their ideology/faith.
A historic timeline disputes the claim made in the title of this article.
You didn't watch the first 10 seconds of the video.
I didn’t even watch the first second of the video. That would be one second of my life I would never get back.
Did you tell that person they were a "good Catholic"?
Actually the Muslims believe Jesus existed but Allah took him to heaven and let the Romas crucify someone else. Jesus will return with the Madhi: “There is a belief among Shia Muslims that Jesus and the Mahdi will be both present at the same time, that the leaders who will carry out their commands will be from the Quraysh tribe, and that afterward Jesus will be the Vizier of the Mahdi. It’s also believed that he will perform the prayer behind Mahdi and follow him.”
He will then command Christians to convert to Islam or, I believe, to be destroyed.
Couldn’t care less. I stopped reading your post after the word, “Actually”.
Life will go on.
Did you tell that person they were a “good Catholic”?
No. I told him how he could be one.
Hmm ... and all this time, I thought Jesus was Jewish. Silly me.
He was the Moon God (hence the crescent moon).
Most or many of the rituals of that pagan religion were retained by Mohammed in Islam as we know it today.
Sounds like blasphemy to me.
Following is a list that shows some of the strong differences between Jesus and Mohammed. The Muslims revere Mohammed as the greatest of prophets, yet Jesus clearly demonstrated greater authority, teaching, and miracles than Mohammed ever did. Why would anyone want to follow Mohammed over Jesus when Jesus claimed to be divine, performed many miracles, said that He alone was the truth, raised people from the dead, and rose from the dead Himself, and Mohammed did none of these things. However, Mohammed did have people killed, spread his religion through war, married a very young girl and had relations with her when she was nine years of age, and taught hatred of Jews and Christians.
1) Jesus ascended bodily into heaven. Mohammed did not.
2) Jesus is called the "Word of God". Mohammed is not.
3) Jesus spoke at His birth (Sura 19:29,30)
4) Jesus had supernatural knowledge (Sura 1:49)
5) Jesus was endowed with the Holy Spirit (Sura 4:171)
6) Jesus was called "Spirit in Him" (Sura 4:171)
