I have a good friend in Việt Nam who is Buddhist which means Buddhist/Pagan, I have discussed Religion with her. She likes to go to Mass sometimes at Hòa Nghĩa Parish and thinks Jesus is a very good fellow and prays to him sometimes. I thought there was an opening there and talked about it until I realized that she did, indeed, love Jesus and put him right up there in her pantheon with Quan An and Bụt(the Buddha) and the spirits that inhabit her forest. I am not much of a preacher and feared I would just alienate her. She is married now and has two girls, the older of which is my godchild, informally, because her husband just told me that. He used the Christian term so they know what it means and I am happy accept it. The kid is super bright and they are sending her to a Catholic school which I am paying for.

They call Jesus the second in stature prophet, second to Mohammed and they say that the Gospel writers lied about him and changed the facts.

Muslims and Progressive Christians think that he is a fine fellow too. But, there are not "many paths to the mountaintop" or "many rivers that flow to the sea". You don't have to be a Christian to be a good person, but "good enough" is not God's standard.

Muslims believe that everyone is Muslim from birth.

So when they run into someone who is not muslim, they see that person as apostate, or deceived.

Muslims are a very confused bunch.

They believe in a Jesus called Isa, who was never crucified and is not our Lord and Savior-despite being described in the Koran as "sinless" and the "Messiah," and being like to Adam, i.e. being directly created by God.

They claim that Jesus never wanted anyone to worship him, and never asked that of his disciples, because apparently Mohammed never read the synoptic Gospels.
