1 Thessalonians 4:17
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Paul thought he was going to be in on the rapture, ( that is if we think Paul was describing a literal live body going up in the air).
And every generation since the protestant reformation has thought they were the chosen ones to be in on the rapture.

I believe in pre-Trib rapture, but it has never been a case of being “CHOSEN ONES to be in on the rapture”. I’ve been immersed in this theology my entire life, and have never heard it presented that way. When it happens, it happens. Could be a minute from now. Could be a millennium from now. We do believe a literal live body going up in the air.
It’ll happen just after Christians who have died earlier have been taken up. (Verse 16)
