I am beyond anger and feelings of betrayal at the perfidy of our bishops and Cardinals.

My user name is an anglicization of Conchobar Mac Nessa, Red Branch High King in the Ulster Cycle of Irish mythology. This cycle is contemporaneous to the beginning of the Christian Era. The poet William Butler Yeats adverted to him in his poem "The Secret Rose" as

". . . the king whose eyes
Saw the pierced Hands and Rood of elder rise
In Druid vapour and make the torches dim;
Till vain frenzy awoke and he died . . ."

I'm not Spartacus, but lately I've been channeling my eponymous forebear - I think some heads need to roll - heads adorned by red hats.
