Bill Donohue is a loyal Catholic blinded by his devotion. He needs to recognize that the Catholic Church has been permeated by vile homosexuals. They will never gracefully or voluntarily release their grip. Their intent is to scrap three millennium of Judeo-Christian consensus that rightly condemns this destructive abomination. The homosexual deviants with to change Church doctrine and teaching. They wish to make it compatible with modern hedonistic culture that celebrates their sick perversion. Pope “who am I to judge Francis is their champion.

Cardinal Wuerhl is part of the problem, too. When he arrived in Wash DC from Pittsburgh he was interviewed on a local radio conservative talk show. I listened to it and from what I heard from him even then he just sounded so creepy but it was what he was saying, too. Well, after that I did a little research on him and lo & behold, I found evidence from reports of seminarians, etc about his sexual proclivities. It was just story after story about “Donna”. Since the Pennslyvania scandal broke a few weeks I went back to see if the stories still held and they were wiped clean.

Undo respect at the feet of church ‘elites’ is one of the reasons child rape, molestation, and cover-ups are common in the Catholic Church.

True ‘elites’ are held to a higher standard - not a lower one...

Bill Donohue's 'Catholic League' is funded by many of the offending clergy.

His typical objectivity has been compromised by design.

Not the hill that Donohue should be dying on. He ruins his reputation, and the effectiveness of the Catholic League, by defending Wuerl, for whom there is no defense.

Donahue, usually a consistent and able defender of the Church, seems this time to be ignoring Bishop Vigano’s allegation that Wuerl was specifically informed of McCarrick’s behavior on at least two occasions, once by Vigano himself. But perhaps more importantly, Donahue appears to be tone-deaf as to exactly whose “scalp” traditional Catholics are seeking.

A priest, who is accuses by a minor of sexual abuse, should be turned over to the police and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. It seems that the bishops in the Roman Catholic church believe that their internal investigations and discipline somehow exempt them from civil law. This mindset is similar to Muslims believing Sharia law supersedes U.S. law.

When a priest is accused by a minor or the minor's parent(s), bishops need to call the police station - not the Vatican or psychiatrist. Furthermore, bishops who do not immediately report sexual abuse accusations to civil authorities need to be charged with aiding and abetting.

Wuerl has fled the jurisdiction, as far as I can tell. Let’s see if he comes back from Rome.

the bishops had no institutionalized mechanism for assessing sexual offenses

institutionalized mechanism for assessing sexual offences. One has to think about the words a bit.

Correct problems definition helps solve the problem.
(this is a worldly perspective).

1) if the problem is homos, there are only two ways to prove they are homos: You catch them in the act or they self identify. After that it is accusations, you can’t prove and there will be supporters on both sides of individuals. in essence you repeat the INQUISITION.

2) If the issue is pedophiles, you have much of the same problem.

3) If the issue is corruption, removing a leader isn’t going to do it. The institution is part of the problem.

So what is the solution folks? We all spout off with ideas and various comments. BECAUSE OF THE NATURE OF MAN THESE PROBLEMS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN HERE, AND ALWAYS WILL BE HERE ON EARTH.

Now there is a solution, but we aren’t going to like it. It has been implemented multiple times in history. Anyone want to talk about that?

A dear friend sent this to me and it is quite illuminating how a man who would become pope and then resign saw much of this almost 50 years ago

https://aleteia.org/2016/06/13/when-cardinal-joseph-ratzinger-predicted-the-future-of-the-church/

If they had only listened, but seem that they were beguiled by the wealth and positions rather than the faith

God Bless

Just because Wuerl did a slightly better job of dealing with this than his predecessors does not mean he is innocent. If nothing else he’s a political animal and likely did so for appearance’s sake.

I know people here in Pittsburgh who have known Cardinal Wuerl since childhood. They are all shocked and highly disappointed in him.

For God’s sake, just admit the crimes. Work with the police. Tell the world this is not what you stand for.

Take ACTION to prevent this, not to prevent exposure.

Its easy to do. Its a little painful, but it easy to do.

Otherwise this is simply a cancer that is going to literally kill the Roman Catholic Church.

Shouldn’t this be settled by investigation based on testimony and evidence, rather than rumors and strong feelings of either personal loyalty or aversion?

I admit to being swayed by rumors and mockery, but I don’t think this is compatible with judging with justice. I need to restrain my prejudices.

Whether Wuerl knew about McCarrick or not, is irrelevant to me...

Wuerl needs gone because he actively engaged in covering up for predator priests, including a pedophile ring!! He used NDA’s to shut up victims... etc etc etc...

Whether he knew about McCarrick or not does not matter... He protected animals and criminals and prevented victims from anything close to justice.

Yes Wuerl needs gone.. Yes the Pope needs gone.. but the reality is, just removing a few players won’t change things.. because you much remove the homosexual cabal from the church, and if you do not, they will just put a new Pope in and replace Wuerl with another who will happilly cover up for them.

I don’t care one iota if Wuerl knew or did not know about McCarrick (though I am hard pressed to believe he didn’t)... He already showed he would cover up for people not only molesting children, but marking and trading them amongst each other...

I am not SCAPEGOATING him... he did it, he knew it, and he cannot be trusted in a position of authority...

Until the laity of the Catholic Church recognize just how big and damaging the homosexual cabal within the church is, and demands it removed... NOTHING will change, other than the players names... We will be right back here in 20 years, just with different names in the headlines.

Yes Wuerl instituted structural changes that helped prevent more abuse, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t cover up and knowing protect people he knew were abusing children. In doing so he served Satan... He needs gone.

Bottom line, this guy Donohue is way over the line in his defense.
The best thing the church could ever do is to remember Christ clearing the temple. It could change the world if such priests and cardinals were slapped and beaten by a deacon or leader, thrown out the front door, had their collar ripped off and were kicked down the front steps.

Seeing church leaders fight the molestation of boys would be a powerful message the world would never forget.

Scapegoating Cardinal Wuerl. Almost as bad as demonizing Satan.

Donahue is also another one who refuses to blame Bergoglio for anything. Wuerl is his friend but you can bet your bottom dollar he knows Wuerl is homosexual. Donahue does not mind having homosexuals in the priesthood as long as their celibate. In otherwords he goes against the teachings of every pope who ever lived. Homosexuality is not compatible with the priesthood. End of story.
