Close...Factoid from the Coca Cola Co. Website:

"Did you know that until 1955, Coca-Cola was available only as a soda fountain drink and in 6 1/2-ounce contour bottles? 1955 saw the debut of the King Size (10- and 12-ounce) and Family Size (26-ounce) contour bottles in the U.S., marking an important step in giving consumers packaging options to meet their needs...."

11 Facts About the Coca-Cola Bottle

I checked to see it my memories were correct. Collected quite a few 6.5 oz bottles along roadsides and playgrounds for the 2 cent cash refund.

I loved those 6 ounce bottles.

Heavy and green and just the right size.

Thanks for the info - was born in ‘52 and a quick search showed some ads for “vintage” coke machines with the popular 8 oz bottles....the only 6 oz bottles I remember were the Nehi Grape Sodas.
