A Congressman at Planned Parenthood

September 25, 2018

Are you ready?

The largest 40 Days for Life campaign in history starts TOMORROW in 415 cities!

I was recently joined by Congressman Kevin Brady, chairman of the House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee, at the Houston vigil site.

Rep. Brady is a 40 Days for Life vigil participant and the father of two adopted children. We were in front of the largest abortion facility in the western hemisphere to encourage YOU to sign up to pray at your local vigil:

Momentum is on our side…but our work is not done yet. Have you found your local campaign yet? If not…it’s time! https://40daysforlife.com/browse-campaigns/

Boston, Massachusetts
Boston has been doing 40 Days for Life for 10 years! Like tough New Englanders, they have survived bubble zone threats from the State of Massachusetts, persecution, and apathy from many churches vigil after vigil.

Rita, the local leader and a retired OB nurse, said that she is a homebody and doesn’t like to get out there. She mentioned possibly leading the campaign to her husband years ago. “I wanted to run it by him because I knew he would tell me no, and then I’d be off the hook. Instead he said, ‘I think we should do it!’ We’ve been leading here ever since and have no plans to stop.”

I spoke at Boston’s kickoff dinner which was well attended and resulted in many hours being filled to pray at Planned Parenthood.

Birmingham, England
The autumn 40 Days for Life campaign in Birmingham opened with a full house as 150 people heard moving testimony from a post-abortive mother who had an abortion after becoming pregnant through an assault.

The volunteers also heard from a grandfather whose grandchild would have been aborted–if not for an encounter with the 40 Days for Life vigil participants.

Finally, volunteers were treated to a surprise appearance from a couple whose baby was saved from abortion during a previous campaign. As the local campaign team said, “It’s no wonder we have so many new volunteers signed up to this life saving work. Praise God!”

How appropriate! Freak Ford and the rest of the campaign to smear Brett Kavanaugh is all about protecting abortion “rights”—NOTHING ELSE!!!!

I have cut and paste this several times, but it needs an alert again.

Showdown very soon.....
from email re: Gosnell movie.

Planned Parenthood are holding a posh $400 Gala Dinner at the Hyatt Hotel in Austin where they are honoring their former President Cecile Richards.

So we have decided to have a simultaneous screening of the Gosnell Movie at the same time in the same hotel.

As you know we wanted to tell the Gosnell story because it is crucial that the truth is told.

Well now we are going to bring that truth to where it’s really needed. We are going to show Planned Parenthood and their friends in the mainstream media that there is an appetite in Texas for the truth to be told.

And unlike Planned Parenthood we won’t charge you $400 to see Gosnell - The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer. It is free - you just have to register here. Alfonzo Rachel who stars in the movie will be presenting the event which is being hosted by the Texas Alliance for Life.

Below are the details of the event. It’s really important that we get a crowd. Planned Parenthood and the media will be watching. We need to show the world that there is an appetite for the truth in Austin, Texas.

Event Date

September 29, 2018

Event Time

6 pm

Location

Hyatt Regency Austin 208 Barton Springs Rd. Austin, TX 78704

Registration HERE:

Life is sacred and precious at both ends of the spectrum.

Prayer also needs to be directed toward the Supreme Court selection and case considerations.

I’m the Life Director for my Knights of Columbus Council. For the next 40 days Knights after each Mass will be praying around the altar for an end to abortion. On 5 Oct the Diocese of Spokane will be having a Memorial for the Pre-born. On 7 Oct the Diocese will have a Rosary Procession (walk)for Life. We also sponsor the Pro-Life Fair Booth at the Spokane County Fair that just ended. It was a great success this year. Each week during 40 Days for lIfe the Kniights of Columbus will be participating in various pro-life events.

Day 1: An abortion worker already quit!

September 26, 2018

Here we go!

40 Days for Life starts TODAY in a record 415 cities…

…and we already have our first report of an abortion worker converting and leaving her job! (More on this in a moment.)

But first, a mother in your community might be scheduling an abortion as you read this message. Thankfully, you’re not helpless.

We can pray, we can fast, and we can stand vigil. Find the closest vigil location at https://40daysforlife.com/browse-campaigns/

Former abortion workers report that when there is someone praying in front of an abortion facility, the “no-show” rate for abortion appointments can go to as high as 75 percent!

It’s always easy to make an excuse not to go out and pray at your local vigil. We counted down the five worst excuses to not pray at your local 40 Days for Life vigil on this episode of the 40 Days for Life Podcast.

Former Abortion Worker #178
Volunteers at one 40 Days for Life location didn’t make any excuses to stay home from their local vigil. In fact, they decided to hit the sidewalk a week and a half before the campaign began.

Their efforts paid off.

“Found out this past Saturday that an abortion worker just quit!” said Andrea, who participates in a 40 Days for Life campaign in the eastern United States. (We don’t reveal the locations of workers who leave their jobs to protect them from reprisals from their former employers.)

That makes 178 abortion workers to leave their jobs since the first nationally coordinated 40 Days for Life campaign launched in 2007.

“PRAISE GOD,” Andrea continued. “Our prayers are having an effect!”

Downers Grove, Illinois

A year ago, 40 Days for Life campaign participants in Downers Grove, Illinois encountered a group of rowdy protesters who sought to discourage them as they prayed for abortion-bound mothers and babies in their community.

The protesters created such a circus that even abortion supporters asked them to leave. As is typically the case, the effort to protest peaceful prayer fizzed.

But the 40 Days for Life team presses forward. The Downers Grove kickoff event filled the public right-of-way and featured words from a local priest, the executive director of Illinois Right to Life and a pro-life musician.

Scripture and Prayer:
Blow the trumpet in Zion! Proclaim a fast, call an assembly. Gather the people, notify the congregation. Assemble the elders; gather the children and the infants at the breast … Let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep and say, “Spare, O Lord, your people.”
—Joel 2:15-17

Lord, we ask for the strength, courage, wisdom, determination and stamina to carry out this mission according to Your will. Guide us, we pray, as we go forth and proclaim Your truth.

Just got email— hotel cut them out-no previewing.
Planned Parenthood forces cancellation of Gosnell screening

Dear Supporters,

Well they have done it again!
I wanted you to be the first to know that the Hyatt Hotel in Austin has caved to Cecile Richards and her Planned Parenthood thugs and cancelled the Gosnell Movie screening in their hotel.

We were so looking forward to screening Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer as Planned Parenthood held their $400 a plate gala dinner nearby. It gave a real choice to the people of Austin. Many had already registered to attend the screenings and we were receiving dozens of new RSVPs every day. But now thanks to the bullying of Planned Parenthood and the cowardice of the Hyatt they won’t get to see the Gosnell Movie and the truth about abortion.

DAY 2: We have our first saved baby!

September 27, 2018

Each 40 Days for Life campaign, I look forward to getting that first report of a baby saved from abortion.

I didn’t have to wait long. The first saved baby report came from Nashville, Tennessee, where a prayer volunteer received an unforgettable note:

“Just wanted you to know that you made a difference in my daughter’s decision today. The sign on your truck was the 3rd message from God about this. Thank you! God Bless you!”

It doesn’t get any better than this. Praise God for this life saved and mother spared. And thank you to Jeff and his team in Nashville for answering God’s call.

Colorado Springs, Colorado
Colorado Springs is hosting its 20th 40 Days for Life campaign this fall. But even after more than a decade of pro-life prayer vigils, the momentum continues to build.

“There are more people signed up than there ever have been!” said Colorado Springs leader, Michele. “Lots of new people too!”

One vigil participant got an early start on the campaign, praying at the sidewalk the day before the 40 Days for Life vigil began. A young man approached her and asked, “Are you pro-choice or pro-life?”

She said they were there to help women and that she was pro-life. The man replied that his girlfriend was pregnant, and ultrasounds were so expensive. She told him about the pregnancy center, just a few blocks away. He left, happy that they had somewhere to go to get help for their pre-born baby.

Jos, Nigeria
While abortion is largely illegal in Nigeria, underground abortion facilities exist throughout the country. Meanwhile, Western governments apply tremendous pressure to liberalize abortion laws.

That means education is essential. The 40 Days for Life team in Jos launched its campaign with a day-long kickoff event, featuring training on the harmful effects of abortion on women, how to promote purity and chastity, and the power of prayer.

“We are now prepared for the campaign,” said Maureen, the local leader.

Scripture and Prayer
In those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplying, there arose a complaint against the Hebrews by the Hellenists, because their widows were neglected in the daily distribution. — Acts 6:1

Father, in the Church’s desire to engage our communities with the gospel, let us gain wisdom from those who have gone before us and cherish their experiences and perspectives. Help us to appreciate every soul in the body of Christ and minister properly to everybody.

Day 3: Prayer in the media capital of the world

September 28, 2018

You don’t need me to tell you the mainstream media isn’t pro-life.

From the blackout on coverage of the annual March for Life, to the refusal to cover the trial of abortionist and serial killer Kermit Gosnell, to the filth peddled by Hollywood, the mass media has proven to be a major ally to the abortion industry.

That’s why Joe in Los Angeles is making community outreach a major focus of his campaign. “Because of our location, the people who work in media have to drive by.”

That means employees and executives from movie studios, major newspapers, video game companies, Google, Netflix, and more. The Los Angeles 40 Days for Life vigil is uniquely positioned to touch the consciences of some of the world’s most influential opinion-makers.

In fact, Joe and his team regularly encounter an Emmy-nominated actress, who sharply criticized their presence at the abortion facility on Santa Monica Boulevard.

Joe told the actress that he enjoys her work before explaining his public witness. That helped change the tone of their conversations. “I believe that we have earned her respect,” he said.

Speaking of Los Angeles, Campaign Director Steve Karlen recently visited kickoff events at 40 Days for Life vigils across Southern California. Here’s his report from the road:

West Covina, California

Campaign leader Yvonne said the property housing West Covina’s FPA abortion facility was recently purchased by the hospital next door. That’s why the West Covina team will be praying and doing outreach in front of the hospital.

I told volunteers that when their presence dissuades patients from seeking care at a hospital involved in taking the lives of children, financial pressure will become a powerful incentive to cut ties with the abortion industry.

I also had the opportunity to meet the now eight-year-old boy who Yvonne helped save from a late-term abortion at her 40 Days for Life vigil nearly a decade ago. Sebastian is Yvonne’s godson…and he has a sister on the way!

Riverside, California

Dozens of Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox Christians joined the kickoff rally in front of Planned Parenthood in Riverside.

Maggie is leading her first 40 Days for Life campaign. Having written on the topic of the dignity of women, she increasingly developed an understanding that human dignity begins in the womb. Maggie said she decided to lead the campaign because, at the end of her life, she didn’t want God to ask her what she did to protect pre-born children…and come up empty-handed.

Scripture and Prayer

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? —Matthew 6:25-26

Loving heavenly Father, help us to see the worth of all human beings by the way in which you provide for us. We would ask that you provide also the faith, grace and courage to enable us to protect that which is so precious to you.

DAY 4: Late-term abortion facility QUITS!

September 29, 2018

A late-term abortion facility has quit providing abortions, citing…

…the presence outside!

As she prepared for this fall’s 40 Days for Life campaign, Renée in Champaign, Illinois noticed that the local late-term abortion center no longer listed “abortion services” on its website. She also noticed the center’s logo had changed.

Renée called the location and was informed that the facility no longer provides abortions!

“I was really emotional when I found this out,” she said. “We certainly hoped that this would happen, but didn’t think it would happen so soon.”

What did happen?

Renée had the opportunity to speak with a staff member for the former abortion facility who told her that the decision to stop performing abortions was made due to “picketers”–specifically the 40 Days for Life presence there from 2017-18.

Renée summed up the victory perfectly: “Peaceful, public prayer and presence does work.”

The Champaign campaign team has moved its vigil to Planned Parenthood–the city’s last remaining abortion facility.

Bournemouth, England

As prayer warriors in Bournemouth launched their 40 Days for Life vigil, they were greeted by an abortion facility bin for disposing of “unwanted leaflets.”

Presumably, those leaflets are materials handed out by 40 Days for Life pavement counselors, letting them know about abortion alternatives.

For a business that so frequently touts freedom of “choice,” abortion providers aren’t happy when vigil participants offer their customers a choice that isn’t abortion. Whether it’s unwanted leaflets or “unwanted’ children, the abortion industry’s response is the same: throw them away!

Dallas, Texas

I spoke in Dallas, where last campaign they saved 13 babies–including a set of twins!

Thank you to Dr. Tony Evans, who hosted the 40 Days for Life kickoff once again at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship Church. Susan, the Dallas leader, said they have more vigil hours filled than ever before. They host their vigil at the largest Planned Parenthood in North Texas.

Scripture and Prayer

Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.” — Luke 1:30-33

Heavenly Father, you have made the womb of each woman a very special place. Help us to hold fast to the sanctity of this first home of humanity, remembering the wonderful mystery, that God inhabited the womb of a young woman and came forth as the savior and deliverer of the world.

Can’t get out to the vigil during the week? Why not go this weekend! There are 415 sites around the world.

Day 5: Fasting vs. Bacon

September 30, 2018

I love food–pretty much every kind.

The premise of a 40 Days for Life campaign is simple: 40 days of prayer and fasting for an end to abortion.

But as easy as that sounds, prayer and fasting can be easier said than done.

After all, how do you pray for an entire hour? And what’s the point of fasting anyway? To answer those questions, we’ve released two episodes of the 40 Days for Life Podcast that will help draw you into prayer and deepen your spiritual life on the sidewalk this campaign:

Listen…and then share these podcast episodes on social media…

…and speaking of social media, the 40 Days for Life campaign is a GREAT time to get breaking news about saved babies, converted workers, and closed abortion facilities around the world by following 40 Days for Life on social media:

Ann Arbor, Michigan

Sandie in Ann Arbor reported a beautiful fall day as more than 75 participants joined an Interfaith Jericho March (modeled after the march around Jericho described in Scripture) outside of Planned Parenthood. A Catholic priest and a Lutheran pastor led the group in prayer.

“Our speakers were INSPIRATIONAL as were our spiritual leaders,” Sandie said. “Join us in praying for the most innocent among us, their moms and dads, and abortion workers.”

The Ann Arbor campaign team has consistently achieved FULL vigil coverage, which has helped dramatically decrease the number of abortions performed in Washtenaw County since the city’s first 40 Days for Life campaign in 2007.

Columbia, Missouri

The campaign in Columbia also held a Jericho March.

Abortion supporters from the “Guild of Silly Heathens” (yes–that’s the name they chose) attempted to disrupt the event with a “parade of filth.” It didn’t go well.

The 15 prayer volunteers were just a fraction of those on hand–the rest were marching. Eventually, a dozen or so “Silly Heathens” arrived, but they cut short the stunt when neighbors “expressed their disapproval of the entire spectacle.”

Scripture and Prayer

The King will answer and say to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.” —Matthew 25:31-46

Gracious and merciful Father, we renew our dedication to defending the unborn and all whose right to life is compromised by our godless society’s selfish lack of concern. Free us from our own failures and sins so that we will be truly pro-life in every area of our lives.
