Dream: A Short Hebrew Word Study on Hindsight

With the year 2020 arriving in the not-so-distant future, I decided to look up the Hebrew word for hindsight. It's actually a phrase that literally means, "wisdom after the act":

חכמה לאחר מעשה

chokmah l'achar ma'aseh

What's interesting is that the first letters spell chalam (חלם), the verb meaning to dream. It's the standard dictionary form, which is the 3rd person masc. sing. past tense: "He dreamed."

Strong's Concordance H2492

Wiktionary

Pealim

He [Joseph] dreamed, saw ahead, envisioned the future...

chalam - he dreamed (past tense) - is the abbreviation for hindsight.

hindsight: to look back with clarity because it already happened.

Or rather,

to look ahead with clarity because it already happened.

To dream.

The Kabbalistic term associated with Joseph is Yesod, meaning "foundation," as in Tzaddik Yesod Olam, meaning "a good and just man is the foundation of the world." Alternatively, Joseph is the foundation of the Jewish people. Had Joseph been killed, or disappeared in the slavemarkets of Egypt, the foundation of the nation would have been missing as well.

Joseph From the Kabbalistic Perspective

Taking up the bones (essence, substance, framework) of Joseph was a prerequisite for leaving Egypt (bondage).

In light of the above, here is an interesting gematria:

dreamer: ba'al ha-chalomot as spelled in the verse [בעל החלמות] = 591, the same as

all Israel [כל ישראל]

Which reminds me that the Torah ends with the words, "all Israel". Then it immediately begins anew with, "In the beginning".

"All Israel in the beginning."

Gen 37

19. And they said one to another, Behold, this dreamer comes:
20. Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and throw him into some pit, and we will say, Some evil beast has devoured him; and we shall see what will become of his dreams:

Joseph, looking ahead with clarity because it already happened:

Last verse:

Deu 34.12. And in all that mighty hand, and in all the great and awesome deeds which Moses performed in the sight of all Israel:

For example:

Exo 13:19. And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him; for he had solemnly sworn the people of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and you shall carry up my bones from here with you:

Joseph's bones: dreams. He was the "lord of dreams".

chalomot:

חלומות

= 490 = Bethlehem [בית לחם]

In the account of Rachel's death (Gen 35), Rachel is the subject, meaning also that she [Rachel] *is* Bethlehem:

18. And it came to pass, as her soul was departing, for she died, that she called his name Benoni; but his father called him Benjamin:
19. And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath ("fruitfulness"), she is Beth-Lehem:

Spelled out, dreams = 1002, same as Rachel spelled out:

dreams:

חית למד וו מם וו תו

Rachel:

ריש חית למד

Rachel is known as Rachel Imenu (Rachel our mother) because she is the quintessential mother of all Israel.

Moses took the dreams of Joseph with him; for he had solemnly sworn the people of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and you shall carry up my dreams from here with you.

Taking up the essence of Joseph was a prerequisite for leaving Egypt (bondage).

So basic. So beautiful.

I hope for you to someday encounter Jesus.

Well he's quite a busy man what with all the established church doctrine he's trying to set straight by example, plus all the healing he is doing, but if you'd like to suggest a date for that, that would be great.

Perhaps he'll wander by this thread and look over his schedule.

Funny that you mention it, though. I had a dream Sunday morning where I was in the break room of some type of professional building. It had a couple tables, counter area along the walls, coffee maker in the corner... the dream didn't cross my mind at all when I was writing the thread.

Anyway, I was waiting for him to come in because I really needed to tell him something very important. Rachel was sitting at one of the tables. She was away from home so she was wrapping up a box to send back to herself, 9" x 12" x 5".

She took the paper that was underneath, pulled it neatly over the box, but somehow the paper was crossing diagonally. She had already drawn a diagonal pencil line across the top, corner to corner. She was showing me how she lined up the paper, off that line. I thought it odd that she had an obvious pencil line drawn from corner to corner, instead of just a couple light tick marks to make the alignment.

While I was making some coffee, in walks the Messiah. A regular guy, not the popular icon who has long hair and wears a dusty robe. After some familiar exchange and friendly chat, I really needed to get to the point, so I said,

"There is something very important that I need to talk to you about."

I was surprised when he answered right quick, "I know." Now I was immediately wondering what exactly/how much he knew.

So I replied, "So you know what this is about then?"

He said eagerly, "I hope", "I think so." Or something very similiar. Definitely the first comment was "I hope."

I was surprised but also relieved that he seemed eager to kind of wrap things up and discuss and clarify. Time is short.

Then I woke up. Eh, that's a dream for you, leaving off with with a "to be continued" ending.
