I will try to shed some light on this. As you probably know, I am an ex catholic (praise God for that 😁) I went to a catholic high school, with 99 in my graduating class, 7 of whom, are dead. I think, in 3rd world catholic countries, socialism is more popular, due to widespread poverty. Of course they would love to get their hands on other peoples money.
Now, at a class reunion in 2016, I found out that only 3 of us are ex catholic, and active true believers. I was appalled by the number of Hillary supporters from my catholic high school. I would guess, maybe 25 of them. I am sure each one had their own reasons for this. Some were pro abortion, some were social justice warriors, some wanted other peoples money, but I think economics tends to contribute to socialism, or the lack of it. I hope that helps a little. Do the rest of you ex Catholics have any ideas?
Thanks for the reply
There are only two kinds of governments in the world today: Capitalism and Socialism.
I do NOT see ANY DEMOCRATS standing strong for Capitalism.
But I DO see ALL of them standing strong for more government, taking from the earners splitting it between the non- producers. That makes them SOCIALISTS, no matter WHAT they attempt to label it...
