.... doesn't hold himself much bound by Scripture or Tradition, nor by the Papal Magisterium.

That's the problem with Roman Catholicism....it's not bound by Scripture....which does not change...but is bound by its "Tradition" and "Papal Magisterium" which have, do and will change.

The rest of us, better informed, realize he's not nearly Catholic enough.

I see you're back on that high horse again....pretty sure that's a "mortal sin" for you.

The Bible is the Church's book, written under the inspiration of the Holy spirit, by men of the Church, for the Church, for the salvation of the world.

You're welcome!

Not the Roman Catholic Church. Nope.

Unless you're attempting to claim the Jews who wrote the OT were Roman Catholic.

Yet I still find it amazing that Roman Catholics who falsely claim to have "given" us the Bible, seem to go out of their way to disregard what's in the Bible...presuming they even read it.

No, I didn't say the Roman Catholic Church wrote the OT. It is the book of the descendants of Abraham, our spiritual father. We did canonize it, several centuries before the Jews did, and with the 34 books of the Greek canon as well (the 7 OT and 27 NT books of Greek-language Scripture) which, with Hebrew and Greek books all included, adds up to 73 total books of Scripture.

As for Miss Reverend Hussite, she IS cute, and I rather think I'd like her, but she is a fair flower of the Reformation, bless her heart. We could probably have a good discussion.

I bid you adieu.

No, I didn't say the Roman Catholic Church wrote the OT.You sure about that....you just claimed the "Church" was responsible for the Bible....and by "Church" you have to mean Roman Catholic.

Uh...no. Rome didn't canonize anything until Trent in the 1500s. Until then the RCC had no formalized dogmatic canon. And then they still got it wrong.

She's from an offshoot of the RCC.

Oh, thanks for telling me what I really mean.

This has gotten pointless. So I say adieu.

Are you saying when you wrote "Church" you didn't mean the Roman Catholic Church??

The hole starts getting deep doesn't it.
