Francis drew attention to the fact that “Bartimaeus had made no profession of faith or done any good work; he had only begged for mercy,” and said, “to feel oneself in need of salvation is the beginning of faith. It is the direct path to encountering Jesus.”

Once again Bergolio interprets the Bible is own twisted mind. The blind man did make a profession of faith with his call for Jesus to heal him; a miracle no other man could do.

42 And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath made thee whole. 43 And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God. Matthew; Chapter 20.

The blind man did make a profession of faith

Quite so.

"Son of David, have pity on me"

Calling Jesus "Son of David" recognizes Him as King and Messiah.
