Indeed - don’t look for messiahs or prophets. Only those who will leave citizens alone, in peace, to govern themselves.
The problem is: without God, the godless are unfit to govern themselves. They feel accountable to no higher law. Tyranny is the punishment.
As John Adams said, our Constitution was written for a moral and religious people.
Very good Psalm for today. People have a hard time believing it, but God is in control. He will set these leaders in place, even though we might not like the choice. He knows what lies ahead and we don’t. However, I have a good feeling about this election. It is a decision point for this country and will be a course change one way or the other. I am optimistic.
