Fr. James Martin: Pope Appoints ‘Gay-Friendly’ Bishops, Cardinals to Change Church on LGBT
LifeSite News ^ | 11/7/18 | Dorothy Cummings McLean

WASHINGTON, D.C., November 7, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – Vatican consultant and homosexual activist priest Fr. James Martin stated at a recent conference that Pope Francis has gone out of his way to appoint “gay-friendly” bishops and cardinals in the Catholic Church.

Speaking at the Ignatian Family Teach-in for Justice 2018 in Washington D.C. on Saturday evening, the Jesuit priest and America magazine editor-at-large told students that “things are changing” in the Church regarding homosexuality under Francis’ watch.

“...Just look at what has happened in the last five years--since Pope Francis has been elected,” he said.

“First of all, Pope Francis’s comments about LGBT people like ‘Who am I to judge’. His five most famous words were in response to questions about gay people, right? He’s the first pope to use the word ‘gay’, you know, in a sentence,” Martin continued.

Martin emphasized Pope Francis’s relationships with people who identify as LGBT. He pointed out how the Pope has appointed bishops and cardinals who support the homosexual agenda.

“He has gay friends. He’s talked about wanting gay people to feel welcome in the Church. That’s a big deal. He has also appointed gay-friendly bishops and archbishops and cardinals, like Cardinal Tobin, the archbishop of Newark who, for example, held a ‘Welcome Mass’ for LGBT people in his Cathedral… So that’s one trend,’ Martin said.

You will be pleased to learn that normal Catholics do not believe the blasphemies offered by Pope Francis' minions like Sicluna, Rosica and Spadaro. They really are poapolators, but curiously, only as this extravagant hyperbole is focused on Francis and not on his more Catholic predecessors.

A "normal" Roman Catholic?? Now that's a new term for all of us.

The wife and I started bible college...1st year, 1st semester and it has been amazing. The more we study, the richer it gets.

I am convinced, man made religion is a tool of the evil one to pervert how the creation sees the creator. God is a good good loving Father who has gone to extraordinary lengths to call his creation into a loving relationship.

Religion would have us endlessly working and toiling to earn God's love and acceptance. Constantly having folks focusing on sin, guilt, shame, condemnation, worthiness. Scripture is amazing in that once we realize our identity...who God says we are, we can then break free of legalism and works based theology and rest in His presence. Then begin a loving, meaningful relationship with our Father...because of Jesus.

The cross worked!

“If you are incapable of reading John 6:50-71 and recognizing Christ’s reference to his establishment of the Eucharist in the Last Supper, then there is no point in my explaining further.”

You are trying to redirect the post now into a place that wasn’t in the original discussion which indicates you have no Scripture to back up your rc talking points.

With that being said we can talk about how the rcc has destroyed the communion process of our Lord.

I can read and I do understand Communion very well. You seem to forget that I’m not the one who has to have the magisterium tell me what to think, say, and do!

My Lord has given me His Holy Spirit to TEACH me all things necessary for righteousness and salvation and to teach others the path of righteousness and salvation.

I’m not the one who thinks that I have to put something in my mouth to be saved though our Lord plainly said that it’t not what you put in your mouth, but what comes from the heart.

Communion is the remembrance of the Lord God’s New Covenant through the Blood and Body of Jesus Christ. God’s New Covenant was ratified with the death of Jesus Christ His promise to save all of Mankind through the Christ (Hebrews 9:15-17). When we take communion we are ratifying and vowing our individual engagement/betrothal to the Bridegroom Jesus Christ.

It was the same betrothal process that all Jewish couples did at the time of Jesus. There is a breaking of the bread (dinner) and four cups of wine that have a specific order and mean very specific processes of the betrothal, marriage, and covenant and both parties are obligated to fulfill their respective parts.

The Lord calls Himself a door, a shepherd of sheep, and a gate, but do you take that literal also?

Not to mention that no Jewish person would even drink blood or eat another human being, so Jesus would have never taught that EVER!

We believers of the New Covenant are still bound by the no blood law, so as you said if you can’t read that then you have not read the Old or New Covenants of the Lord God.
Acts 15:20 & 29

“We’re done here and you can pass that on to all the other anti-Catholic bigots who’ve come to bail you out on this thread.”

Don’t say we’re done... say you’re done because I’m not done. You and the whore of rome have take my Lord’s word out of context, so I will defend it.

Funny how you, other rcc’s, queers, the sexual immoral, democrats, liars, murders, thieves, and Satan ALWAYS at the end of a debate label us as bigots. \

I will use the words of Jesus to say all I have done is quote Holy Scripture which is the truth and yet you label me as a bigot, so which Scripture do you stone me with?

You are arguing with Christ and asserting that He contradicts himself.

The word He used translates to "gnaw" which is actually eating.

Do you really think those disciples who left misunderstood Him, or that Christ would not have explained if he thought they misunderstood?

Instead, He reinforced his statement, so read it again for yourself:

48 I am the bread of life. 49 Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. 50 This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that a man may eat of it and not die.

51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if any one eats of this bread, he will live for ever; and the bread which I shall give for the life of the world is my flesh.”

52 The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”

 53 So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you;

54 he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

55 For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

56 He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him.

57 As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats me will live because of me.

58 This is the bread which came down from heaven, not such as the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread will live for ever.”

56 He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him.

And yet Tom; who had his doubts; was NOT told by Jesus to lick his fingers after poking around in there.

I missed this debate until now, so pardon the delay in dealing with yet another issue of provocative propaganda.

The NT was written, collected, canonized, and preserved by Catholics through their tradition.

Even if the RC penned the NT - which did not, and was very negligent if it did considering the absence of Catholic distinctives in the the only wholly inspired substantive authoritative record of what the NT church believed (including how they understood the OT and gospels) - then by that logic c 1st century souls should have sub, itted to the magisterial leadership over the people of God who penned, collected, preserved, and established a canon of wholly inspired authoritative writings by the time of God.

By which logic then you have invalidated the very one true NT church which you falsely claim to be part of.

Nowhere in the Gospels does Christ tell his disciples to “write” anything. He tells them to teach and preach “all that I have taught you”.

And if God did not preserve (and often provide) His word in writing then (once more) you would not have the NT church, which abundantly invoked the OT as its prophetic and doctrinal foundation.

For writing is God's chosen most-reliable means of preservation. ( Exodus 17:14; 34:1,27; Deuteronomy 10:4; 17:18; 27:3; 31:24; Joshua 1:8; 2 Chronicles 34:15,18-19; Psalm 19:7-11; 119; John 20:31; Acts 17:11; Revelation 1:1; 20:12, 15; Matthew 4:5-7; 22:29; Luke 24:44,45; Acts 17:11)

And as i abundantly evidenced , as written, Scripture became the transcendent supreme standard for obedience and testing and establishing truth claims as the wholly Divinely inspired and assured, Word of God. Thus the veracity of oral preaching subject to testing by Scripture, and not vice versa.

It was not because oral tradition preserved the Word of God that brought about a national revival, but because of the wholly inspired-of-God written word:

And Hilkiah answered and said to Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of the Lord. And Hilkiah delivered the book to Shaphan. (2 Chronicles 34:15)

Then Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest hath given me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king. And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the law, that he rent his clothes. (2 Chronicles 34:18-19)

And the king went up into the house of the Lord, and all the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the priests, and the Levites, and all the people, great and small: and he read in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant that was found in the house of the Lord. And the king stood in his place, and made a covenant before the Lord, to walk after the Lord, and to keep his commandments, and his testimonies, and his statutes, with all his heart, and with all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant which are written in this book. (2 Chronicles 34:30-31)

All Catholic Doctrine is found in Scripture.

You can only wish, and other RCs have stated that it does not have to be found in Scripture, only that it cannot contradict it, but which Rome is held to be the only assuredly true judge of, if hedoes say so herself, for Scripture does not.

53 So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you;

Which - if taken literally as you think Jn. 6 is - means you must disallow any from having spiritual and eternal life who reject the metaphysical unScriptural Catholic Eucharist . Which means that you are a sect of Catholicism, or in schism, rejecting V2 which affirms many who are apart from Rome and her wafer-god, but "many who honor Sacred Scripture, taking it as a norm of belief and a pattern of life, and who show a sincere zeal. They lovingly believe in God the Father Almighty and in Christ, the Son of God and Saviour. (Cf. Jn. 16:13) They are consecrated by baptism, in which they are united with Christ..."(Vatican Two: Lumen Gentium 16)

“Can the laity overthrow the Pope? I’m all for that.”

Yes!

Sola Scriptural!

There is only one Mediator Christ Jesus.

Leave the Roman liars and embrace Christ alone!!!

I thought you were done...

“Do you really think those disciples who left misunderstood Him, or that Christ would not have explained if he thought they misunderstood?

Instead, He reinforced his statement, so read it again for yourself:”

You and the rcc almost had it, but if you would have just kept reading and read where Christ actually tells us His readers what is meant by His statement of drinking His blood and eating His body.

You stopped at v.58, but in v. 59 Christ says He taught this and He goes on to explain it to His disciples. Remember that to the populace He spoke in parables, but to the Apostles who were granted to know the mysteries of God He explained in detail the verses the you quoted. So let’s examine what Christ said in plain language.

63“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.

So you or your rcc’s interpretation is clearly wrong according to the very Words of Christ Himself. You claim that I am saying that Christ contradicts Himself, but it’s actually you trying to distract from the prior points that I have already made.

Don’t tell me that I’m not reading the Scriptures accordingly when in most cases it is explained plainly if you JUST keep reading. I’m not the one who needs a pope or magisterium telling me what to think or believe. What I believe is what I read in plain English according to the Words of Jesus Christ and His Apostels.

“Can a pope overthrow a 2,000 year old church?”

The pope of rome has been trying to overthrow the Church of God for 1500 years and his boss Satan has been every since the garden.

Thank the Lord our God that our Savior Jesus didn’t leave us as orphans, but gave us His Holy Spirit and not a sinful fallen man to lead us.
