It may be that ALL of the political players in the Ukraine are corrupt but there is no political solution to the problem of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. It is strictly an issue of canon law.

There are three churches that call themselves Orthodox. One is Catholic, one is a schismatic sect, one is canonically Orthodox. The government of Ukraine has no say in the matter.

Countries do not get an autocephalous church just because they want one. No one just *deserves* one. The church under whom they function must grant it.

Bartholomew is taking actions that he has no right to take. He has not had jurisdiction for around 400 years.
