[[Religion is a waste of time—Christianity is a way of life.]]

Well said-

[[Religion is man’s attempt to appease an angry God through their own self-righteousness.]]

That’s exactly what Lordship Salvation does- Tries to earn their way to salvation by ‘being good enough that God must accept them in salvation’ (ie they state one must renounce all sin before they can be saved’, ie ‘turn from sin’ they are banking on their righteousness ‘turning from sin’ in order to be saved- and to prove that- they accuse of anyone that falls into sin of having ‘not been serious about getting saved and turning from sin’)

[[Christianity is God in flesh dying on a cruel Cross offering His own self for sinful man and then giving them the free gift of eternal life simply for the asking in faith.]]

Exactly, repent, ie ‘have a change of mind about Who Christ is and what He accomplished o n the cross for the forgiveness of sins” ie, simply put your trust in Him and Him alone to save you- what is the will of the Father? To believe on the One Whom He sent- that’s it- it is Christ who saves, not us who save ourselves by ‘being serious about renouncing sin’ like many religions preach for the reason you stated- trying to appease an angry God through self righteousness

The Gospel is so simple that a child can understand it but it confounds the religious professor who is so wise that he has become a fool.

What should we do when a gospel being preached to us is so foreign it appears to be almost entirely opposite to what has been received?

Paul's Greeting to the Galatians
Paul, an apostle, not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead, And all the brethren who are with me, to the churches of Galatia. Grace be to you, and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present wicked world, according to the will of God and our Father: To whom is glory for ever and ever. Amen.

No Other Gospel
I wonder that you are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ, unto another gospel. Which is not another, only there are some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach a gospel to you besides that which we have preached to you, let him be anathema. As we said before, so now I say again: If anyone preach to you a gospel, besides that which you have received, let him be anathema. For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? If I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

Paul Defends his Ministry
For I give you to understand, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. For neither did I receive it of man, nor did I learn it; but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. For you have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion: how that, beyond measure, I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it. And I made progress in the Jews' religion above many of my equals in my own nation, being more abundantly zealous for the traditions of my fathers. But when it pleased him, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the Gentiles, immediately I condescended not to flesh and blood. Neither went I to Jerusalem, to the apostles who were before me: but I went into Arabia, and again I returned to Damascus.

Paul Accepted by Apostles and Others
Then, after three years, I went to Jerusalem, to see Peter, and I tarried with him fifteen days. But other of the apostles I saw none, saving James the brother of the Lord. Now the things which I write to you, behold, before God, I lie not. Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia. And I was unknown by face to the churches of Judea, which were in Christ: But they had heard only: He, who persecuted us in times past, doth now preach the faith which once he impugned: And they glorified God in me.

Amen - tha’s why I went non-denominational years ago - wanted a purely Bible-based program of worship - without all the “modifications” that men had to keep tossing in to assuage their own desires..

I’ll admit that they are hard to find, but there are some good Bible-believing churches out there with a true burden for the lost. The tough part is going to them long enough to find out if they stand on the Word or are more interested in being a social club.

Yep - and some of the Bible/Book studies are ruined by an iron-fisted elder-statesman/leader that devolves things to trite crap by taking things out of context.....attended one study about the area of 1 Corinthians where they talk about your body being a temple of the Holy Spirit and it turned out to be a “don’t drink or smoke, eat right and exercise to keep the temple healthy instead of a discussion on Sexual Immorality which is the context of the statement. Being me, I tried to steer it to the proper meaning ans was told to MYOB....didn’t stay at that church much longer.
