People on Twitter are calling out President Donald Trump for failing to recite the Apostles’ Creed at the funeral for former President George H. W. Bush on Wednesday.
Footage from the event shows much of the church, including the former presidents seated with Trump, standing to recite the profession of faith.

A whole row of wicked people reciting the Apostles' Creed. Makes ya wonder, huh?
Maybe Don and Mel were "making a statement"? Or, maybe he being Protestant and she being Catholic, they have some agreement between them about reciting it??
45 years in Baptist churches, and I’ve never heard anyone say the Apostles Creed. Guess that makes me a heathen damned to hell...
The last name has 5 letters and starts with a T.
And ends with "rump"...
I go to mass with my wife. I stand up and mumble, but I don’t say it either. We didn’t have that in my church growing up.
Only Catholics and Eastern Orthodox say this prayer as far as I know.
It's not a prayer, and many Protestants use it. My congregation does.

It is widely used by a number of Christian denominations for both liturgical and catechetical purposes, most visibly by liturgical Churches of Western tradition, including the Catholic Church, Lutheranism and Anglicanism. It is also used by Presbyterians, Methodists and Congregationalists.
It was an Episcopalian service. High church Episcopalians also recite the creed.
I bet a million dollars if he HAD read it (like everyone else) then they would have said “How dare the President of the United States endorse religion!”

I noticed that at the funeral.....but wondered if it was because President Trump didn’t have his reading glasses on and he had to read the words.....like all the fakers did on that row.

I grew up Presbyterian and we learned and recited the Apostle’s Creed.
But I think President Trump needed his reading glasses because no one in that first row was reciting the Creed, they were all reading it.
Same here. Methodist and Baptist churches. Never heard it recited before.
I wouldn’t know The Apostles’ Creed if it bit me in the ass, and I’ve attended church since I was three days old minimum of five times a week. Some religions don’t believe in “vain repetitions” and chants.
My favorite hymn:

“I believe in One Holy Catholic Church.”
Refers to the Christian church as a whole. It is a Protestant creed.
Eppiscopalians are basically pretend Catholics. They have a Catholic ceremony but do not believe in Christian teachings. They are more like Unitarian Universalists. In particular, they worship a “Spirit” (not the Holy Spirit) who is doing a “New Thing,” e.g., legitimizing homosexuality, transgenderism, polyamory, etc. They do not believe in the authority of Scripture, among other things.
Geeze, I hate to hear that. That’s everything my Baptist teaching tells me is wrong..........;(

I think Lutherans might and Church of England groups also recite the creed. Dont know about Baptists, pentecostal’s do not and Charismatic and AG do not either. Non denominational... etc... I never have and I probably wouldn’t if I attended a church that did.
All that up and down business... reciting this and that etc... some people need ritual. Some people don’t or never have experienced a ritualistic mass.
