The house doesnt fit the description of the family nor the time period. They were a working class family with Joseph being a carpenter. The facade is a latter addition that actually surrounds the house; it is not the house itself. The house is a rough one-room stone building, as can be seen in the pictures of the interior.

Kind of reminds me of an Asherah pole. It's idolatry no matter how you cut it.

Oops. You're wrong again. When you stop kneeling before the idols of "Mary" and praying to that image we can talk.
You might keep zour seal closer to home, though, and inveigh against the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial. They attract far more devotees.
LOL....another false equivalency argument from Roman catholicism....you get this one from Staples?

Their church? Really, metmom, I'm astonished. You're suddenly a believer in your church?
Maybe your church rejects scientific evidence and historic testimony? That would explain a lot.

"But Roman Catholics don't worship Mary." Thank you, ealgeone! You're getting there.
You should have been at Mass today. The priest and deacon incensed the altar, the vestments, each other, and the whole congregation.
Hate to say it, but: *you* would have been incensed.
:o)
But nobody would have adored you. I promise you that.

But nobody would have adored you. I promise you!

Document that "middle class" part, please? Chapter and verse? Working class...get it right.
What we do know is that they couldn't find accommodations in Bethlehem and had to settle for a cave used as a stable (Luke 2:7); and that when they presented Jesus in the temple, they gave "a pair of doves or two young pigeons" (Luke 2:24)---the offering the poor.
Yep...fits right in with the working class.
an artificer in stone, iron, and copper, as well as in wood ( 2 Samuel 5:11 ; 1 Chronicles 14:1 ; Mark 6:3 ). The tools used by carpenters are mentioned in 1 Samuel 13:19 1 Samuel 13:20 ; Judges 4:21 ; Isaiah 10:15 ; 44:13 . It was said of our Lord, "Is not this the carpenter's son?" ( Matthew 13:55 ); also, "Is not this the carpenter?" ( Mark 6:3 ). Every Jew, even the rabbis, learned some handicraft: Paul was a tentmaker. "In the cities the carpenters would be Greeks, and skilled workmen; the carpenter of a provincial village could only have held a very humble position, and secured a very moderate competence."

Actually, Christianity is about the Incarnation.

That changes everything.

But you continue to prove my observation of the Roman catholic who can't string together a coherent argument.

Worship, veneration, glory, whatever semantic twist you are using today belong to Jesus Christ alone. Anything that takes the focus off Him is idolatry and worse. Your mutilation of the thesaurus to find something else to call it does it change the blasphemous Roman worship of Mary and the saints. Angels fell all over themselves in the Bible getting people to stop kneeling to or venerating them or whatever you want to call it.
