Maybe your church rejects scientific evidence and historic testimony? That would explain a lot.

Seems like some people trust science more than GodMighty handy of "science" to insist events in the Hebrew Bible never happened but that this "miracle" actually occurred.
I suggest that the house "evolved" there.
