I have no idea if he is guilty, but the timing of the trial coincided with Pell’s finding of lots of money hidden by certain Vatican bureaucrats, and he was digging into money laundering of the Vatican Bank.

Since the Pope also fired the outside accounting firm that was supposed to be auditing the bank (I'm not sure if this was before or after Pell), it does make one wonder.

I didn’t pay attention to Australian priests but I did always think Pell was one of the good guys.
