It’s been a while since I’ve read the Constitution, but I don’t recall it stating that the “free exercise thereof is dependent on whether an atheist group agrees”...

Atheism is a Religion in and of itself and they should all respond as follows:

“Public schools and public school staff may not constitutionally organize trips to the Ark Encounter or the Creation Museum or any other religious venue,” a letter from the nonprofit’s co-founders to schools reads. “We suggest they visit the local mosque instead”, he went on to pontificate.

And yet, parents are having to fight to keep their child from being indoctrinated into Islam when schools force children to take field trips to the local mosque...

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

I find myself in a strange position here as a Christian: agreeing with the atheists to not take schoolchildren to see this. It’s filled with the nonsense young-earth narrative, which asks us to believe more and more ridiculous notions by the year, like vast changes in the speed of light (”Starlight and Time”) or super-rapid post-Ark evolution. It’s sure that God made the heavens and the earth. However, it’s equally clear they were not made on Ken Ham’s timeline.

Did this group complain when school kids were given a tour of a big city mosque? I don’t recall them complaining then.

The Children’s Zoo in Central Park used to have a Bible theme. It had Noah’s Ark and the Whale and some other stuff. Then they did the whole thing over with an environmental theme. I didn’t realize the reason until someone pointed it out.
