A California pastor is looking for a job after facing backlash over a church sign that affirms the biblical definition of gender and marriage.

Pastor Justin Hoke of Trinity Bible Presbyterian Church in Weed, California, posted a new church sign in early January. The sign read: "Bruce Jenner is still a man. Homosexuality is still sin. The culture may change. The Bible does not."

You’ve never seen a beautiful woman and had a quick thought? I have met men that have had thoughts about a man, and they are the furthest thing from homosexuals. Satan can throw thoughts at people! Be a Christian witness long enough and you will hear everything...

LOL...I don’t know why you are picking a fight with me, unless you disagree with my message that Homosexuality is a Sin...

I recommend leaving the denominational church altogether for a small non-denominational church where there is accountability...

>>I’m no scholar, but I’m not sure that being a homo is sinful. I’m pretty sure committing homo acts is.<<

That is basically the teaching of the RCC, but it begs the question of what is there other than sexual deviancy that defines homosexuality.

Let me try:

Heterosexual sex with someone who is not your spouse adultery. Lusting after someone of the opposite sex who is not your spouse also makes you guilty of adultery.

It is possible to recognize that someone is attractive and not lust after them and to have your mind made up in advance that even if an opportunity were to present itself you would not act upon it.

We all have a natural inclination to sin in some way, and all Christians do battle against sin. If someone recognizes their inclination to sin involves same-sex attraction, and they guard their thoughts and actions in order to avoid sinning, I wouldn’t call them homosexuals any more than I would call the straight person who guards their thoughts and actions an adulterer.

>> If he does not act on his inclinations, then he has not sinned.<<

Without looking it up, isn’t there a biblical verse to the effect that if a man looks at a woman with impure thoughts he is already guilty of the sin he contemplates?

Apparently reading comprehension is not one of your stronger points.

According to the Facebook post, Hoke says multiple people, including a church elder, threatened to leave if he did not step down as pastor.

So what? Why did he leave?

As long as that accountability is to the LORD, according to His Word, I have no problem with non-denominational churches. In fact, we plan on attending a certain one in our town, as soon as they are moved into their building. I long ago gave up the notion that there is only one denomination that is the true church. The Church is the body of Christ, wherever they may meet for worship. There’s always going to be error in our teaching, wherever we worship, because we aren’t perfect. My main tenets are, what does the Bible say?, and Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Everything else is gravy.

Just for the record, I’ve had Justin Hoke as one of my fb friends for the last year or so. With out going into anything his being fire has been in the works for awhile before the sign incident. The sign incident though might of been the straw that broke the camel backs per say.

Over the course of many years I have heard many stories about the pastors and elders of such churches boinking the choir ladies and running off with some unsuspecting member’s wife or daughter. There was accountability alright!

When I hear someone say tha it always makes me question their sincerity since anyone with a normally functioning brain knows that there is nothing more controversial on planet Earth than what the Bible says!

One of the sodomites, as the pastor called them said “love is love.” The pastor responded “and sin is sin.

And in between them sits ...and sex is not love.

A possibly more clear way to say it is: Being tempted is not a sin. Entertaining or acting upon the inappropriate behavior is.

There are bad ones, and there are good ones. Find a good one that preaches the Bible
