You ask styupid questions because of ignorance. 'The Church' is not the org in Rome. It is a body of believers everywhere. So, no, the Church was never gone since Jesus began it. Try to not conflate romisch foolery with what God says in His Word. Catholiciism is 'another religion', not the Gospel of God's Grace in Christ Jesus. That religion (catholiciism) is a man-made religion seeking to incorporate works and grace. But God Who IS says works cannot be included else it is no longer 'By Grace you are saved, not of works' least any Catholic boast.
