It seems to me that the W. Coast is over due for a larger quake. We moved out 6 years ago..our old house was really poorly constructed with a big hillside behind and fill underneath. I figured that a quake like Northridege nearby would bring part of the hill down and the house off its raised foundation.
Can scientists accurately tell us that the West Coast is overdue for a big quake that will surely strike someday? Yes.
Can they tell you it will occur sometime in October, 2021? No.
