At one point during the rally at the Piazza del Duomo, Salvini, a practicing Catholic, took up a rosary in his hand and said he was entrusting the European elections to the Blessed Virgin Mary, which earned him the wrath of Catholic groups that have already compared Salvini to the anti-Christ.
In a tweet that same day, Salvini wrote: “I entrust Italy and my life to the immaculate Heart of Mary!” While ordinarily such an expression of piety would win approval from Catholic pastors, Salvini was excoriated by the Catholic establishment.
Jesuit Father Antonio Spadaro, who waded into U.S. politics in 2017 with an essay slamming conservative Christians in the United States as politically ambitious racists who promote an “ecumenism of hate” and wish to impose a theocratic state, was quick to accuse Salvini as “taking the name of God in vain.”

Politicians should not invoke God as having ordained them to office or as approving their policies, though there are some exceptions like pro-life.
People should not say “omg” unless they really mean to invoke God. I believe that’s a form of taking the name of God in vain.
And women should not scream “omg” during sex. It’s just not the right time to include Him.
Salvini did no such thing.
Liberals will always complain about someone using the name of God when they are using that name along with an idea that God would actually support. Such as the right to life or the evil of homosexuality.
Liberals will always support using the name of God as long as that use is going along with something that God hates. (such as homosexuality or open borders).
The moral relativist Spadaro doesn't seem to be too consistent about applying his own principle that, "It is no longer possible to judge people on the basis of a norm that stands above all." Some judgments are more equal than others, eh?
Hold up the rosary and affirm your commitment to Jesus through the heart of Mary and the demons howl!
