Pope Francis Says He Draws Strength from Relationship with Benedict XVI

‘When I hear him speak, I become strong,’ say Holy Father

Pope Francis said Sunday that his relationship with Benedict XVI gives him strength and reminds him of the living tradition of the Church.

“When I hear him speak, I become strong. I hear this story of the Church,” Pope Francis said of Benedict in an in-flight press conference June 2.

Speaking aboard the papal flight returning from Romania, Francis said that each time he visits the pope emeritus, he feels more like family.

“Every time I go to visit him I feel like that, I take his hand and get him to talk. He speaks little, slowly, but with the same depth, as always — because Benedict’s problem is his knees, not his head,” he said.

“He has a great lucidity, as always,” Francis added.

Pope Francis commented that Benedict XVI reminds him that “the tradition of the Church is always in motion.” He compared tradition to “a tree that grows, flourishes, and bears fruit.”

Yeah I bet. Satan probably lets him draw out Benedicts life essence a bit every day.

i wish Francis would draw faith and morals from Pope Benedict, instead of merely strength

it would be a big improvement

Vomitatious. He said BXVI is “like a grandfather.” BXVI is 9 years older than Frankie. Some grandfather. And then Frankie said that there is nothing wrong with the mind of BXVI, it’s just his knees.

Of course, Frankie didn’t mention that even with his knees, BXVI can kneel before the Blessed Sacrament, something that Frankie claims his own knees prevent him from doing. On the other hand, Frankie can kneel before Muslims, Communists and just about anybody other than Our Lord.

“Every time I go to visit him I feel like that, I take his hand and get him to talk. He speaks little, slowly, but with the same depth, as always — because Benedict’s problem is his knees, not his head,” he said.

So says the man who refuses to genuflect at the consecration of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, nor kneel before the Eucharist during Benedictions. The man who will only bend his knee to wash muslims' feet on Holy Thursday or to kiss the shoes of diplomats.

Francis has repeatedly referred to Pope Benedict XVI has a grandfather figure. Benedict is only ten years Bergoglio's elder.

Yet no prosecution of pro-aborts destroying pro-life booths and signs at the likes of Georgetown University or Notre Dame.

Please tell the rest of us non-Catholics why it’s o.k. for the Pope to change “The Lord’s Prayer?” Last time I looked he wasn’t “The Lord,” and it’s a Universal Prayer Shared by Most Christian Faiths!

Knees that make it painful to kneel is a bit of reparation we can offer to the Lord.

So where does the Blessed Sacrament fit into our faith when the liturgy, sacred tradition, the sacraments and even the words of Christ, are all tossed up, shaken up, essentially deconstructed?
