Knowingly or not that Pope set in motion changes that have all but destroyed the traditional, orthodox Catholicism that was most perfectly set forth by the Council of Trent. Sadly, that apostasy has had profoundly negative consequences not only for the Church and faithful Catholics but for everyone on the planet.
Dogma and moral theology of the Magisterium has not changed. The people whose duty it is to teach it changed, but I have often thought it was culturally caused rather than the Council.
