Russian Govt to Promote Conservative Values, Says Top Activist Alexey Komov
Russian Faith ^ | 10/4/19 | Matthew Adams

To strengthen Russia's future, an elite coalition is encouraging the government to embrace conservative ideology, with an emphasis on traditional marriage, big families, homeschooling, creation science, and reduced exposure to mass media.

Addressing a panel of experts from around the world, top Russian activist Alexey Komov discusses conservative Christian principles, pointing out the integral place these traditional values hold in Russia's future, particularly in the government.

Komov, representative of the World Congress of Families in Russia and the CIS, spoke at the third international Chișinău Forum, held in Moldova on September 20, 2019. Video and transcript available below.

TRANSCRIPT

I'm happy to be here today, and to see all of you, and I will share some of my thoughts on the very important ideas that we are discussing here.

First of all, I want to say a couple words about my activities in Russia. Among other things, I am an expert member of the Global Council of All Russians. . . . Hundreds of experts have gathered together now, in order to determine a long term plan for development for Russia, called the "Russian Dream 2050".

So, we are developing a long term plan for Russia, in terms of economy, politics, ideology, social and demographic issues, and then hopefully it will be presented to Mr. Putin and the government. And I want to stress that this is happening probably for the first time since the collapse of the Soviet Union thirty years ago, because for those decades we didn't have any ideological plan. And actually in our constitution it is written that there should be no ideology in Russia. So we just were doing in the 90s, and in the 2000s, just trading — we sell oil, we sell gas — and there is no ideological dimension..........

That’s what made America great...until we allowed the Left to infect our churches, schools and government through our laziness and lack of vigilance.

I remember all those millions rosaries we Catholic grade school children said in the 1950's for the Conversion of godless Russia.

Since 1989 to the present, through a combination of historic forces and Holy Spirit action (with the gracious cooperation of Our Lady of Fatima), that seems well on the way.

Now we have to buckle down and pray for the Conversion of godless America.

And for the protection of the Catholic Church from the anti-Catholic Pope.

It's a surreal world.

If they would adopt the U.S. Constitution, and most of our bill-of-rights, it could become a second U.S., but without the U.S. in its name.

Culturally, their young people have adopted a lot of American culture. And the women are nice looking too.

But, Putin has to go.

I don't buy this Putin religious sham at all.

The guy has political opponents murdered. That's hardly a Christian-filled activity. And there is a ton of evidence on just how much of a sham this is.

If Putin thought he would secure greater power via leftist causes, he'd fly rainbow flags over the Kremlin. He's a snake, and not to be trusted IMHO.

Article wasn't about Putin. It was about an elite coalition organizing to encourage the government to embrace conservative ideology.

It's not saying Putin has embraced all this, it's saying this "Council of All Russians" is pressing for more pro-family values.

How Putin moves on this will be interesting. The homeschooling component in particular caught my eye. Homeschooling is the key to liberating children from the totalitatian reach of the State.

Fair point. My guess is Putin will embrace this and HSing. They are movements and efforts that are aligned with his persona as a God-fearing, man of moral stock.

*** No wonder Democrats want war. ***

It’s not just Democrats. I wish the US had even a fourth of the protections Russia has in place to protect children from the assault on them via transgender, drag queen story hours, pedophilic sexualization of children, and the destruction of their innocence.

Big wars also destroy faith.

That's a big part of what happened inh 20th century Europe. Historically Christian continent, wit historically Christian nations of faith (Protestant, Catholic, and Orthodox) slaughtering each other in what looked like a civilizational extinction event, and nearly a successful one.

In the shock and cultural depression that followed, even economic upturns couldn't make Europeans love and trust God or even themselves. They stopped believing, and stopped reproducing.

Hence: secularization, sterilization, suicide.

The future will belong to those who show up. Bismillah.

I agree that Putin has to go. But there is no need for them to become a copy of the United States. They have their own history and culture. This kind of thinking is silly at best and insulting at worst.

History is in the past, and culture is slowly fading, as their young people are adopting the western music and dancing and foods and drinks and movies and TV and overall ways.

You just made a very good argument for the restoration of the monarchy and Russian Orthodox Church as the state religion. Western culture is spiritually toxic.
