Pete Buttigieg Again Claims Bible Says Babies Can be Aborted “Up to Their First Breath”
LIFE NEWS ^ | Nov. 21, 2019 | Micaiah Bilger

Democrat presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg insisted again this week that he can be a Christian and support abortion on demand.

Speaking with Rolling Stone, the South Bend, Indiana mayor tried to justify his stance by claiming the Bible associates “the beginning of life with breath.”

The Washington Examiner reports Buttigieg has been accused of “cherry-picking” biblical teachings on a number of issues. He responded to the accusations by claiming the Bible is “inconsistent internally” and Christians have to make their own sense out of it.

“Well, I think for a lot of us — certainly for me — any encounter with Scripture includes some process of sorting out what connects you with God versus what simply tells you about the morals of the times when it was written,” he told the magazine.

“And to me, that’s not so much cherry-picking as just being serious, because of course there’s so many things in Scripture that are inconsistent internally, and you’ve got to decide what sense to make of it,” Buttigieg continued. “Jesus speaks so often in hyperbole and parable, in mysterious code, that in my experience, there’s simply no way that a literal understanding of Scripture can fit into the Bible that I find in my hands.”

On the issue of abortion, Buttigieg said he believes the Bible does not recognize the beginning of life until the first breath is taken.

“There’s so many parts of the Bible that associate the beginning of life with breath,” he said, reiterating a similar statement he made in September.

At the time, he told “The Breakfast Club” that abortion “is obviously a tough issue for a lot of people to think through morally. Then again, there’s a lot of parts of the Bible that talk about how life begins with breath, and so even that is something that we can interpret differently.”

Interestingly, abortionist and convicted murderer Kermit Gosnell used a very similar biblical argument to defend infanticide in 2015.

“I think it’s Genesis 2:7, expresses the breath of life as the beginning of life that God breathed breath — breathed life — into Adam. The Bible, to me, is very clear that life does not happen until breath,” Gosnell said, defending himself as innocent in a documentary about his crimes.

Buttigieg’s biblical justification for abortion has been called out as absurd by his own family and many others. Even in ancient times, babies in the womb were viewed as valuable, as is evident in Luke 1:41. Jesus placed great value on children when others in society did not in Matthew 19:14, and Proverbs 6:16-17 states that one of the things God hates most is the shedding of innocent blood. One of the ten commandments prohibits murder.

Buttigieg is no moderate on abortion. As mayor of South Bend, he tried to stop a pregnancy resource center from opening down the street from an abortion facility. Then, earlier this year, he celebrated when an abortion chain that amassed dozens of health and safety violations opened a new location there.

In May, when asked about abortions in the third trimester, Buttigieg said he thinks they should be legal and unrestricted.

So he’s saying the Bible is basically unreliable unless he’s doing the interpreting.

Bill Clinton said the same excuse while carrying his 200lb Bible to Church then afterwards getting BJs on the side of the Oval Office.

His Christian “mentor” pushed that fuzzy logic in Genesis concerning Adam that life kicked started by breathing the air.

Problem for these ignoramuses and disengenous charletons is that Genenis did not record Adam gestating in his mother’s womb where oxygen is transmitted mainly through the umbilical cord. The faggot is a reprobate. Wonder what the “once saved, always saved” crowd thinks. Guy stated he gave his life to Christ.

If I remember right, Rush said abortion is the Sacrament in the religion of feminism.

So what has that to do with abortion? It seems that if a guy is mad and hurts a woman causing her to lose her child is not regulated abortion as Buttigig purports. There were no abortionists listed in the Bible nor was the practice.

Well, Pete, I’m sure that Jesus will be interested in your viewpoint when you stand before Him.

Little Petey’s mom should have considered that.

I can’t imagine how I’d feel if my son was/decided to be gay. Life isn’t hard enough without that bullschein?

Pete could care less what real Christians think of him. His role is to influence the swing voters, the ignorant masses, that a gay man is a better Christian than the typical bigoted, backward thinking Christians. The ones who still believe that abortion and gay marriage are wrong. Yep, he’s the new “thinking mans” Christian. He shows how God is cool with all the Lefts favorite policies. He would probably be sworn in on the queer bible.

God bless you Morgana.

You are always here, tirelessly informing your fellow Freepers about the latest outrage concerning the evil of abortion.

We discern who you are and where you stand on such matters..and we like what we see.

I'm certain God sees and also smiles on you.

If someone had told me in my youth of the coming evil of unrestricted abortion and that there would be those praising it as a wonderful thing I would have said they were insane. And yet, here we are. :-(
