That's got to be the weakest response I've ever heard.

He's essentially saying "I know it's bad and anti-Christian but don't worry, some other state will pick up the slack so I don't have to be principled and upset some of my base."

Texas has the longest border, of any U.S. state, with Mexico.

There's nothing wrong with Abbott's decision. And it' s legal one. It's none of Texas bishops' business.

The Texas bishops have never talked in such unison about moral matters, which they should be, e.g., abortion, homo marriage, etc. They're just a bunch of francissocialists.
