We rejoice in the number of Your people You have placed in positions of authority--those we know and those who work behind the scenes. Understanding the strain that is on them, we pray for them: We ask that they may be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that they may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing You, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. Strengthen them with all might, according to Your glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy. May they give thanks to You, Father, who has qualified them to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.
We know they are surrounded by myriad of voices who tempt and encourage them to divert from the narrow path. Help them, Sir, by sending Your Word and like-minded believers to encourage them. Holy Spirit, bring Your Word to their remembrance as You guide them in the path they should choose. We pray that You would enable them to: "cast down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, as they bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ", Your Word tells us that You are "faithful, will strengthen them and set them on a firm foundation and guard them from the evil [one]".
We bless You because You "have delivered and drawn them to Yourself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and have transferred them into the kingdom of the Son of Your love". As they follow and lift Jesus up, we believe that Your Spirit will draw those around them to You as well.
Thank You for sanctifying them, multiplying them, prospering them and honoring them for their service to You on our behalf. Amen.
