The unfortunate incident occurred ahead of St. Patricks Day, which makes the bite ominous as according to legend, the patron saint of Ireland performed a miracle that banished all the venomous snakes from the island almost 1,500 years ago, using nothing but his faith.
According to The Irish Post, a 22-year-old man from Dublin was sent to Connolly Hospital due to a venomous snakebite which is believed to be the first such case ever recorded in the country. The hospital had to ask the National Reptile Zoo for an antivenom, as only this facility has the right to house it in Ireland but even they had to request it from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine in the United Kingdom, the RTE reported.
The state of the patient remains unknown, however, but reports suggest that he is still in hospital.
The snake that bit the Irishman was obviously not native, thanks to Saint Patrick, but is believed to be a pet puff adder a dangerous snake that inhabits the savannahs in numerous regions in Africa and the Middle East.

The hospital staff was confused by the unusual event. A nurse was overheard: “Doctor say you goin’ to die.”
It’s clearly time for mandatory registration of assault snakes.

Im sure St. Patrick is more disappointed in Ireland for adopting baby-killing and fudge-packing than he is about the arrival of venomous snakes.
So close to a Darwin award.
Sounds like Satan is celebrating the abortion vote.
Should have gotten an American puff adder...a/k/a spreading adder. Not venomous, plays dead when annoyed.
Wuhan Snake
Clearly a foreign transplant
Hog Nose Snake?
So that’s where he was bitten.
Some a-hole secretly imported some kind of adder or rattler. I hope the snake bite HIM/HER right in the NOSE.
Further examination revealed the snake to a Bothrops ammodytoides, a venomous pit viper species endemic to Argentina. Found only in Argentina in the provinces of Buenos Aires, Catamarca, Córdoba, Chubut, La Pampa, La Rioja, Mendoza, Neuquén, Río Negro, San Juan, San Luis, Santa Cruz and Tucumán. (sarcasm off).
Among the Adder family of deadly venomous snakes, it is the most affectionate!
Why yes, youre right! I see here, the Puff-Adder snake only kills one out of three owners while other adder varieties kill one out of every two! This variety is a much better choice as a pet for families with children.
As soon as the Irish jettisoned their Faith and welcomed in the demons of abortion and sodomy, the serpents weren’t far behind.

No word on whether the snake passed out from an alcohol overdose.....
Did you see the thread on the cancellation of all St. Pat’s festivities?
Well we now know that there’s at least one MORON in Ireland.
I cannot imagine anyone being STUPID enough to keep a viper for a pet.
