When I consider how many of His blessings I’ve missed through my stupidity and stubbornness, I shudder. So, I’m not merely thinking of you but praying, too.

I ALWAYS try to say YES to the Holy Spirit. Unfortunately I'm sometimes weak. I say a rosary every day before Mass with a group from our Church. They take turns every week leading the rosary just before Mass. I often say another rosary at home. It rests my soul and mind to pray to our good Lord. Always has.

We have our own "Jase Robertson." One priest I have in mind is SUCH a good homilist and confessor that I am GLAD that he's much younger than I am. I'll be listening to him for many moons. He can even give me the last sacrament: Anointing of the sick.

Our good Lord called MANY good men to be priests. There are MANY "Jace Robertsons" in the world. I'm MOST thankful that they answered God's call. And I am delighted that you find your answers with him...a blessing from our good Lord.

By the way you aren't the ONLY one to behave in a stupid and stubborn manner. We all have shuddered.

Duck Dynasty was a long-running TV series (now readily available on YouTube and Amazon) featuring the entire Louisiana family in an endless series of scenarios resembling I Love Lucy's wacky antics, if you're old enough for that to resonate. They had built a fabulously successful business making and selling duck calls, of all things, and, as Jase details in his sermon, along the way Jesus got hold of every one of them; He, too, was featured in their series, to the mortification of the network executives, critics, etc., etc., etc. There are four married sons, and notably all have augmented their natural families by adopting, often multiple times.

To your point, several of the Robertsons have leveraged their notoriety into opportunities for preaching the unvarnished gospel through a variety of media, as Jase here. Another especially touching and inspiring example is Jase and his wife Missy's appearances on Focus on the Family discussing their daughter Mia's (featured near the end of Jase's sermon in a different context) cleft lip and palate and how the Lord is blessing them through it Part 1, Part 2. Missy's book is Blessed, Blessed, Blessed (a play on patriarch Phil's bestselling book Happy, Happy, Happy).

Don't even ask how I got through this long narrative without once mentioning Uncle Si....

The rosary is a false prayer to Mary with some elements of Truth mixed in.

Praying to Mary, while it might make you feel good, is not going to help.

All of our prayers are to be directed to God. We pray to the Creator....not the created.

Way, way better than "good": superb, unprecedented, brings the Gospels alive. Its chief distinctive, setting it apart from all predecessors, is its leisureliness: rather than cramming the four Gospels into the mere two hours of a movie, its makers are planning 7-8 seasons of 8 episodes each--50± hours. That enables them to turn Jesus and the disciples into humans instead of cardboard cutouts, with human emotions, humor, chitchat....If you saw the wonderful Risen, it developed the character of Claudius, and to a lesser extent Jesus, Pilate, Peter, Mary and Bartholomew; in The Chosen, everyone gets the full treatment, because they have the time available to do it.

Season 1's eight episodes were Crowdfunded, and they're halfway to funding Season 2.
