Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
(Music in The Bible)
2 Chronicles 7:4-7
4 Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the Lord. 5 And King Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty-two thousand head of cattle and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep and goats. So the king and all the people dedicated the temple of God. 6 The priests took their positions, as did the Levites with the Lords musical instruments, which King David had made for praising the Lord and which were used when he gave thanks, saying, His love endures forever. Opposite the Levites, the priests blew their trumpets, and all the Israelites were standing.
New International Version (NIV)(End of Scripture Passage)
Here is a hint that King David was not only a Musician, but also a maker of Musical Instruments!

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
The unrest in our beloved Nation had me very upset last night. I am supposed to take my Bike to the Mechanic this morning, so I went to bed early. But I didn't get much sleep, as images of rioting and mayhem kept trooping through my head. I prayed most of the night, which is a good thing, but now I am exhausted which is not a good thing. Anyway, after I turned the coffee on, I sat down to write Today's thread, based upon the list of Scripture references I compiled MONTHS ago, for "Music in the Bible". It was 2 Chronicles 7:4-7, which tells of the dedication of Solomon's newly-built Temple.
I love the description of the Choirs, Musicians, and Instruments that were being used to celebrate the placing of the Ark of the Covenant into its beautiful new home.
I also love this little note that the instruments had been made by David. So, not only did David play them, he MADE them! I hadn't thought about that before.
This description immediately precedes the Dedication Ceremony itself, in which the famous 2 Chronicles 7:14 (If my people...will pray) is stated. How perfect for this Morning!
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
