Prayers up!
Heavenly Father, You are in control of everything. You know when even a little sparrow falls. We are coming corporately to Your Throne of Grace in StarCitizen’s time of need for employment. You already have a job for him. In the meantime before its revelation, please provide him and his family with hope, comfort, health, food and other necessities including funds for any due bills. Thank you for hearing our prayers. We pray in the Precious Name of Jesus, Amen
Prayers up!
An embarrassing admission - I have been unemployed since late last year.
It is hard being a white middle-aged man in today’s economy. I finally have two solid leads and should know something next week.
I’ve been there myself a few times.
It can be a rough ride, I almost didn’t survive a couple of rounds but somehow I kept going.
I’m a lecturer/ instructor/ corporate trainer/ professor of computer science/ games development/ games design or straight programmer/ games developer/ sortware engineer
Location: I’ll go to Russia if I have to. I’m extremely flexible. Wherever there is a job, I’ll go.
Been applying like crazy in NL, Germany and the UK. Hope I get more luck there and less desi hiring managers/ recruiters/ screeners
Cheers and thanks
Prayers for Starcitizen to find suitable employment in the field of his choice !
I lost my job at 55 and it took me a while to get back on my feet.
I used ExpressPros.com who found me several temporary positions until I finally found a full-time gig on my own. They still call me for temporary assignments. The cool thing is I can accept or decline without condemnation.
I usually accept the ones involving pouring beer and wine at fund-raising events or community fairs and whatnot. Easy money. And fun.
Made it to two rounds of interviews twice with Epic Games and was actually hired at Unity Technologies in Montreal. Position, however, was later scrapped due to the Wuhanic Plague due to no work visas being issued by Canada and the border being closed.
Checked COLORADO workforce daily (requirement of UI insurance). Most of these jobs are just links to either jobs I’ve already applied for or links to desi placement agencies (I get about 50 emails a day from desi agencies). Learned from this forum and personal experience that fo not even apply or show interest. These jobs are just posted to “prove” there are no qualified Americans.
What ever happened to old-fashioned on the ground placement agencies like Robert Half etc?
Thank you Texas Eagle, I appreciate your kind words.
@Starcitizen May the Lord guide you through this difficult times and help you secure employment.
Prayers for Starcitizen and family.
Prayers up.
The Indians, who control the IT industry, in the US will not hire United States citizens.
You are being discriminated by people from a third world country, in your own country.
It is so very sad.
Always make it past the initial screening interview if its an American recruiter/ screener. Always fail the panel interview, which is normally all Indians. Happened about 20 times thus far.
Doing their online skills test, they only accept the Indian way of doing things. Having taught computer science at the University of Maryland and games programming at several international universities as recently as late 2018, (as well as PHD work in Computer Science at the University of the Philippines, who follow the US system), I think I know what is taught and how its taught.
Its worse than affirmative action. An American must score 150 out of 100 to get hired, an Indian, 10 out of 100 and a Communist Chinese, 80 out of 100.
