Let’s go back to the Book of Genesis. Eve is tricked by Satan and eats of the forbidden fruit from the Tree of Knowledge. She then goes on to convince Adam to eat of the same forbidden fruit. Old story, but here is my OPINION on this.

A thing (the fruit of the tree of knowledge) cannot change it’s nature. The Bible states that when Adam ate of the fruit their (both Adam and Eve) eyes were opened. Strange. How is it that the fruit had an almost immediate effect on Adam but Eve was able to eat of it, go find Adam, convince him to share in the fruit and then her eyes were opened. I don’t buy it, not logical for it would mean the nature of the fruit is variable.

Again, in my opinion, Eve ate of the fruit, suffered it effects, i.e. gained the knowledge of good and evil and THEN convinced Adam to eat of it knowing of the consequences. I believe this to be a reason (unpublished and unspoken) why women are not allowed to be priests.

Nothing against women, it’s just a case of natural strengths. Women are better than men at looking at circumstances and finding justifications for bending the rules. Men are better at following the rules as written. There is a place for both in this world and we are better off for having both strengths. But God’s Word is true and unchanging. Searching for circumstances to allow bending of the rules is not helpful.

Again, just my opinion. I’ll get off my soapbox now and make myself a new tinfoil hat.

I agree with the above.

However, I believe Adam, by his very nature as a male, was immediately made aware of his sin, unlike Eve when she first ate of the fruit. Just as only a male priest can effect the consecration of the Body and Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ, only a male could see the effects of original sin immediately upon the act.

Just my opinion.
