>>> Did a third of the stars of heaven fall from the sky on that date?

Thats not what Rev 12 says. It refers to the virgin with 12 stars as a crown, sun on her shoulder and moon at her feet. The only thing that was missing (that we know of) astronomically was the red dragon about to consume the child as it was born. I think I remember something about the same alignment happening again in about 25-30+ years, but I dont know... only that that the last time it occurred was supposedly about the time that Adam and Eve walked on the earth.

>>> As signs for times and seasons. So we could know when to plant crops, for example, or observe the festivals that God told us to keep. Not signs to look for to predict the future. That’s pure paganism.

You are wrong about this. I suggest you research it better.
God uses the stars He placed in the heaven to display His Glory and confirm His Word to man. They are not just for planting crops. You are thinking of Astrology and signs of the Zodiac which is an abberation of what God intended. Just because Satan corrupts a medium God intended for our education does NOT disqualify that medium. Don’t confuse the 2. God put them there for signs, Satan distracted us from it by selling the zodiac. Dont throw out the baby with the bathwater.

I believe that the alignment which took place on that date is accurately described in Revelation chapter 12.
The only relevance I can apply to it as a “sign” for ANYTHING is a POSSIBLE marker for the age I DO believe we live in... a “Confirmation” if you will for Those who are looking up in anticipation of His coming, instead of spending their time telling people what things “Aren’t”.

IT MEANS SOMETHING!.. thats all i’m saying. I have not suggested that we predict future events from it.

Feel free to give us your all knowing interpretation of what it does mean, since you obviously know everything about what it is not.

“Thats not what Rev 12 says.”

Yes, it does:

“3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.

4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth...” Rev. 12:3-4

“The only thing that was missing (that we know of) astronomically...”

Astrologically. There is no astronomical significance to shapes you want to draw between the stars and then use to try and predict the future. That’s astrology. Here’s what God says about looking to astrology:

“13 ...Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.

14 Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.” Isaiah 47:13-14

“You are thinking of Astrology and signs of the Zodiac which is an abberation of what God intended.”

Well, that’s what you are engaging in. You are drawing shapes in the stars and using them to try to predict the future. Pretending that those shapes line up with something in a prophecy does not remove God’s prohibition against what you are doing, nor will it serve to make your efforts ever be anything but completely fruitless. If God had wanted us to interpret prophecy in light of the stars, it is a certainty that He would have instructed us about how to do that, at least once, rather than condemn the practice in no uncertain terms.

“Don’t confuse the 2. God put them there for signs, Satan distracted us from it by selling the zodiac.”

I’m the one who has been confused? When God condemns a practice quite clearly and someone is trying to wriggle out of that and make some exception as to why they can do it anyway, that is the person who has been confused and needs to watch out for Satan.

“I believe that the alignment which took place on that date is accurately described in Revelation chapter 12.”

Except it didn’t happen. You already admitted there was no “dragon” and of course, one third of the stars didn’t fall out of the sky, Jesus Christ wasn’t born, etc. Even if I thought applying your methodology was not improper, the application of it would still fail spectacularly here, since a cursory glance at the text reveals that it contains dozens of “signs” which did not happen.

“Feel free to give us your all knowing interpretation of what it does mean...”

Well, I already gave you some hints on how to properly interpret it. First, you should follow the general principle of letting the Bible interpret itself. Look for the symbols of the sun, moon, and stars in another significant prophecy which the Bible already has told us the meaning of. Then you will know the meaning of the symbols when they are used in this prophecy. From there, the rest of the meaning of the prophecy falls into place quite easily. I’m not going to do your homework for you, though.
