Therefore we cannot and will not acquiesce to a government-imposed moratorium on our weekly congregational worship or other regular corporate gatherings. Compliance would be disobedience to our Lords clear commands.

It is interesting the Elders and Pastor did not rely on the First Amendment.
One could make the argument the the Constitution is the ultimate civil authority in the United States. Since civil authorities take an oath to uphold and protect the Constitution where civil leaders depart from the Constitution, does one still have a Biblical duty to obey civil authorities? If you believe no, one could argue that this interpretation could also apply to judicial authorities, for example the Supreme Court, if they also do not adhere to the Constitution. The Supreme Court members also take a vow to uphold the Constitution, their violation of this oath could be construed as removing the Biblical call to obey their authority. One would have to be very sure before going this route, however, ultimately God will be the judge.
Glad he finally got on board. There were many, many churches that never bowed the knee to Caesar and never ceased meeting. At least 20-30 I know personally that took a stand not based on constitutional grounds but on the Headship of Jesus Christ. In fact, his statement might look a little familiar...Not trying to stir up trouble or anything. I’m glad he’s on board.
Amen!
The cops who might go there and Politicians/Newsome and all others who mandate this are defying The Sovereign Lord of the Universe.
They have been warned.
23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
16 Have I therefore become your enemy because I tell you the truth?
Should be massive disobedience by churches across the country to tyrannical governors. Every Sunday.

Which is why conservatives need to elect pro-2nd amendment, constitutional sheriffs in their counties. The sheriff is accountable to the people who elected him, not the mayor, the city councilman or the governor. The sheriff has the legal and armed muscle to protect his community.
So when the governor sends his state police weenies to enforce an illegal dictate, they are met by heavily armed sheriff deputies.
And all you defeatists, spare me your fantasy garbage about the national guard in the state taking out the elected sheriff. The national guard is made up of a good number of sheriff deputies.
What truth? You have not said anything.
My thoughts exactly. My church wimped out, and it’s causing me a bit of soul-ache.
I guess you can sit beside Jonah, and wait for God to smite Nineveh.
Our gathering complied with the initial lockdown. The elders were aware of the scripture to comply with authorities and also to not forsake the assembling of ourselves together. Having Zoom available made it possible to muster up some semblance of achieving a workable balance. It wasnt long before some of us voiced our dissatisfaction with this compromise. However, the flock is ultimately responsible for yielding to the oversight, just as the oversight is responsible to the Lord, so we continued to Zoom meet. It was interesting that the day the restriction on church gatherings was lifted here in NC allowed us to assemble physically again as a body on Pentecost Sunday.
It is my hope that our gathering will no longer acquiesce to these civil impositions on our practice. I believe MacArthur has laid out the appropriate case why all gatherings of Gods people should choose to obey God and not men. I have forwarded MacArthurs letter to the elders at my assembly for prayerful consideration.
Interesting. The sanctimonious and arrogant Dr. Macarthur finally sees the light after decades of errant teachings about Romans 13 and 1 Peter 2 and five months of demanding submission by churches to State diktats.
